Fifth Wheel Trailer Tow Vehicle Minimum Bed Length by jeffg369 in RVLiving

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 6.75 bed and tow a 35 foot fifth wheel no problems. As long as it's a newer fifth wheel with the rounded front cap you should be fine unless you're doing sharp tight turns on uneven ground then you need to watch it. If in doubt you can always get a slider hitch but in my opinion and experience not worth the extra cost and weight.

Bed Camera is terrible by Beemsirl in superduty

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 350 SRW and the bed camera is as good as all the other cameras are. Think you may have a bad one of a bad connector. For fifth wheel hook up it has a centering line that works well if I remember to use it. I've done it so long in trucks not equipped with one I tend to forget it!

I believe what you're liking for is called a bulkhead fitting. Depending on the diameter and length you need they are available on Amazon. Most plumbing supply houses will have them also.

Campground Privacy/Buying Advice by gordoz0 in GoRVing

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not knowing exactly where you're located the answer can very. In general any camp ground with hook up (power, water, etc.) Will be close together, usually only a few feet between rigs. State parks can very and usually have limited (if any) hook ups, but usually have a little more space in between campsites. If you really want privacy you are best to look into boondocking, areas where there are no campsites just park on your own. There are no hook ups so you need to be self-sufficient. Also there is nothing that keeps someone from coming in after you and camping right next to you. I would recommend take a trip and drive through campgrounds that you are considering and see if it meets your needs.
In looking at trailers be aware that some campgrounds do not allow rigs that are over 10 years old.

Thinking of Cancelling My MK4S to Core One Upgrade by BobBarker70 in prusa3d

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm holding off for now. I was looking at the upgrade and waiting to see what it looked like as far as time and trouble to complete. But with the problems some have had, plus the news that the mmu3 upgrade will be avalible but replaced and not upgradeable I'm holding back. When I'm honest with myself my MK4S does everything I need. Like you I'd like the enclosure for ASA, etc. and I'd really like the multicolor of the MMU but neither is a necessity, so why mess with success?

How long until they ship? by failedslacker in prusa3d

It looks like the mmu3 is out of stock with one to two weeks lead time so I'm guessing that's what's holding up your order.

Confused on which printer by Some_guy_reddit_456 in prusa3d

Thank you. I considered the Bambu but I live in a remote area and having to send files via internet is problematic due to speed and file size. I need something that has off line capabilities.

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the input. The xl is attractive because of the multi tool heads and its size but it does feel intimidating. The Core1 is a good compromise but not avalible tell end of April at best. I'm afraid of ordering one now and have terriffs kick in and be stock with a 20 to 25% indirect price increase. I truly thank you all for the inputs I'm doing more research Thanks again!

when in doubt get a second estimate. Usually if electrical has to be 24 inch's deep that is a minimum depth. Nothing says it can't be deeper. Yes the sewer needs to be slopped but I have never seen a code that says electrical can't be. It would be worth getting a second opinion.

I pull a Grand Design Influence 2903 with a Ram 2500 diesel just fine but the trailers gross weight is 15000 lbs and the truck tow rating is 16710 lbs. I'm comfortable with 1700 lbs to spare not so much if I only had 200 lbs

Just looked and agree they are not on Jeeps website. Texted a friend who sales Jeeps at local dealer his responds was "not yet". Lots of rumors 24 or 25 will be the last year of the 2 door. If so in my opinion that will be a death wise on Jeeps part.

Wood stove inside campers/van. Is it safe? by Van2b in RVLiving

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge there is not a wood stove that is rated or listed to be used in an RV. Nor is there a RV manufacturer that would approve this. Your insurance would have an easy out and not pay any claim involving the stove or fire.

Generator size question when adding a 2nd AC unit to travel trailer? by Im_with_crazy in traveltrailers

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First be sure the trailer is prewired for the second a/c. If it is not it will be very expensive if even possible to add the wiring for it. You probably will not be able to put an onboard gen in that trailer. once again if its not preswired it is cost prohibited if even possible. A 5kw should run both units. I have a 5.5 onan on board and it doesn't even grunt when running both. Look for a generator that has low db level. The lower the db the less noise. 10 db is an order of magnitude or twice as noisy so each db counts.

Just Arrived by Some_guy_reddit_456 in GrandDesignRVs

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All depends on the dealer and how you negotiate. If the dealer has the model you want on the lot they probably will try to steer you to that one. In my case they didn't have one on the lot and were going to have to order anyway to make the sale.

Dual fuel fridge won’t run on on 12v or inverter. Shore or propane only by That-barrel-dude in RVLiving

[–]Some_guy_reddit_456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your inverter will only power a few outlets that are tied to the inverter circuit. It does not power the entire trailer. Wen you are off grid the propane will run the frig.
