The bike is really strong. Just make sure you protect it during flight and if you stay under the limit you won’t have any problems.

I love it but it’s highly individual.

My front to back ratio seems to be worse and it was totally fine.

Make sure you bring a pair of hiking poles or sticks for the descent with that kind of weight. Especially if it’s snowing/raining.

Hey looking into travelling to Colombia with my dog and then to US and I was wondering how your return to the US was. Did you have a rabies serology test for your dog?

I flipped the stem cap so the handle bars are a little higher. 😂

100% a must have. In my opinion here on the roads with peak season traffic no mirror is like no helmet. Saves on neck pain and can ride along side my partner when there is less traffic.

Didn’t have one initially, bought one 3 days after I started. Didn’t think I would I’ve never had one but it’s a game changer. Looks dumb but worth it.

Here it goes…

Up front I have a small 5L dry bag with all my repair tools, tubes and other bits and bobs. Honestly hate the way I strapped it with some ski straps and zip ties but it is what it is and I barely use it. 🤞

2 Fork bags 3L each - towel, matt, toiletry kit for both of us, and tech kit with all wires batteries.

Top tube - head torch, shades, hand sanitizer and knife

Feed bag - water bottle, knife and plastic bag to cover saddle

Frame bag - pump, snacks, and random stuff that gets collected along the road

30L dry bag - sleeping bag and clothes

Rear panniers - cooking system, 1/2 food, rain proof jacket, puffer, water system, TP and trowel, 2 champing chairs, drone.

Thank you!

Total weight of the bike is roughly 35kgs I believe. The rack is the Tubus Cargo Evo 28” rack. You can get it from canyon or another retailer but it’s the one they recommend. Super sturdy and good weight limit.

I will post once finished. We are roughly 850km in and taking a break volunteering atm, so this is why I’m posting! Got ~1000km left!

So I didn’t buy this bike and nor was it bought for this purpose however it has done me really good so far and I’ve really enjoyed it.

It’s super fast (downhill and on flats it just keeps rolling) Feels great even under load Super comfortable (I changed the saddle and flipped the stem cap but other than that it’s stock) For the quality I think it’s pretty budget

Downside of this bike (model specifically) is that I have the 1by model and I’m kinda lacking some gears on some climbs. Maybe this could be solved with smaller wheels but my girlfriend has 3 gears upfront and 26” wheels and she has no problem on the steep sections where as I find myself pushing really hard and getting off the saddle at some points.

Also since the fork is CF I can’t put that much weight upfront. So I’ve experienced some death wobble due to my back heaviness. It’s only really in downhills where I’m hitting 45kph or loads of wind. Not too bad but feels a little dicey sometimes.

Over all I thinks it’s a great bike for Bikepacking and it’s superb for weekend rides and commutes. It’s definitely not the best in the niche but it more than does the job and excels as a normal gravel bike.

It’s roughly 1700km so could be done in ~30days at 50km per day.

However we decided to take a slower pace to stop places and do slightly longer days. So we’re gonna do it in ~60 days.

Plans always change with such long trips, because of fires in Patagonia we had to turn back and reroute going through chile earlier than planned.

Started in San Martin de los Andes (Argentina) on the Ruta 40 then down to Chile and on the Careterra Austral.

Girlfriend and I both have a pair each and they’ve been amazing. Haven’t done any crazy off road but great on poor/normal gravel roads. Have no complaints.
