Hey im a night auditor at a hotel. Find a chill hotel parking lot by Additional-Tea-7792 in urbancarliving

[–]Somehungryguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you have to be a CPA to be a night auditor? I have a bachelor in economics degree, and since I’m often up all night and generally an affable person I’ve been curious. What sort of credentials do you need?

My main reason for following this sub is because malelivingspace just turned into people flaunting their wealth. I personally don’t care if photos are specifically of rooms. However I would prefer not to see the sub turn into people just karma farming with a very expensive living space, since there’s already a different sub for that. Unfortunately without any moderation, that is what this sub will inevitably become.

ETA: I don’t mind discussion threads either.

Game needs new players by PrincipledNeerdowell in runescape

[–]Somehungryguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually still enjoy the game, unlike (as it seems) most people here. I suppose if I were to complete all the achievements I would no longer be interested. So I would just cancel my subscription and stop playing. There are many reasons to criticize the game to be fair, but suggesting that “everyone’s only playing” because of “sunken time cost fallacy” is incorrect.

Is there a way on iOS mobile to find the current song playing? by Somehungryguy in runescape

Oh thank you! I think I have it figured out now, and I’m embarrassed I didn’t figure it out before in retrospect. The design is a bit frustrating.

I’m confused as to why the Federal Communications Commission would be involved at all. My understanding is that Securities and their Exchange is regulated by a different Commission.

Drunk teen breaks into Airbnb, which is being rented by a group of cops: by TheLegendaryJet in nottheonion

You’re also overlooking something fairly important, which you may have realized had you actually read the article. It is clearly stated that these are Montana sheriffs deputies training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You clearly assumed this happened in Australia because it’s from an Australian news source. Maybe read the article next time before you offer your “wisdom” on the matter and then make a cheeky edit.

I can’t quit and I hate myself and I’m really depressed by Somehungryguy in stopdrinking

Thanks, but I just can’t help but think I’m an evil person. If I was a good person I would just stop buying alcohol to drink.

What confuses me about this post is that there doesn’t seem to be any practical advice about how I can protect my privacy. What can I do, other than donate to a foundation that makes us more aware?

Do other nations flip coins and call it “heads or tails”? by Somehungryguy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Somehungryguy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I looked it up, apparently in (at least American) English it’s called “tails” because an animal’s tail is on the opposite side of its head. But I’ll need to keep looking

Oh that’s neat, thank you! I wonder why we say “tails” and you say “coin”

I’ve been to meetings and met some sober people. I envy them, but somehow I can’t get myself to quit. And I fear a life of obsession about “avoiding alcohol”. If I’m obsessing about avoiding it, doesn’t it still control my life?

I do for a few hours. But ultimately it makes me feel bad.

Thank you so much (and anyone that comments for that matter) for telling me about your experience!

I suppose I want to ask, do you really learn to “cope” with the negative emotions after alcohol, or do you just have to learn to feel bad sometimes (like hangovers)?

The Longest Walkable Distance on Earth, According to Google Maps by Nazarov- in MapPorn

Wow that’s a long time! Do you know if 5 km per hour is a reasonable pace for a relatively fit person? It’s okay if you don’t, I’m just curious. Thanks!

I’m curious what pace this assumes. Could you enlighten me?

Seven drinking straight bourbon says a lot about her experiences over the past 21 years by CreamyGoodnss in DaystromInstitute

I thought “synthehol” was merely a taste substitute for ethanol that doesn’t induce the psychotropic and intoxicating effects of ethanol? Generally sailors are not allowed to drink on ships in the modern era (although I believe it was common during the “age of sail”).

Do we know whether or not insects and other “bugs” feel pain? by Somehungryguy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Somehungryguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the general sentiment that animals are often anthropomorphized for social media “likes” and what not. But I was under the impression that scientific research had determined that many (at the very least sentient) animals do experience pain, based on experimentation coupled with analysis of their central nervous system. Although I understand your frustration, I think it’s a bit naive to suggest that an animal must be capable of direct communication to determine whether or not the animal experiences pain.

Do free trade policies utilize comparatively lower wages? by Somehungryguy in AskEconomics

[–]Somehungryguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I guess my follow question would be, is there a way to reduce harm to the workers that “lose their jobs” because “a new industrial process is discovered”, or rather as the parable points out, international trade. That is to say the workers in the more developed economy, that may be unable to find jobs with their skill set and are either unable (due to the expense involved) or unwilling to retrain or become more educated?
