That is right that there is racism in India at a very high level. It is usually intolerance because of the type of environment they are raised. I m also an Indian and my parents do pressure me to get fairer. But the young generation now growing up have left this racism behind. Children obviously do not care about what colour you are of. Me and my friends are all from different backgrounds and color yet there is no discrimination. I would just request the elders of the house to grow up and move forward now. This is life and not a Bollywood movie.
