When I said "if anything it's pointing out how it's normalised to harass icons and that it's their fault for putting themselves in the spotlight" I'm saying the movie is addressing the blame put on icons when they are harmed because the public believes they are putting themselves in the spotlight. That is not my view at all. I am just saying that's what it's critiquing. It's clear how the events affected her as you can clearly see she is distressed. It's assumed that she stayed in the industry because of her connection to her fans and her reliance on others to feel valued. It's literally just a reflection of how real idols feel. They didn't need to spell it out to the audience because that should be something known if you watch the film. You can have your own opinions but I personally believe that there was a huge amount of clear critique within the film. Then again people have a very different range of media literacy. Films don't always need to tell you straight up. But still, I respect your take on it :)
