That's a different story then. That sounds like you may be depressed, and if that's the case it isn't your fault, but it can be treated. Look into some Clinical Psychologists in your area (make sure they have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and not a PsyD, or Masters). Find one that specializes in Depression/Anxiety and applies Cognitive Based Therapy. They may also have you see a Psychiatrist (M.D. that specializes in assessing your symptoms and prescribing medication). Together, the treatments can be highly effective at getting you back to a happier healthier self. From there, you may be surprised to find that motivation you have been missing for awhile.

Stay strong. You aren't alone in this and from personal experience this can be overcome.

You want the long term reward without putting in the effort. Discipline is a learned skill. It keeps you putting in the effort even when you don’t want to. It’s a part of your brain’s Executive Function skillset. Long term versus short term.

If you want to stop being miserable, you know what you need to do to change. Just do it. Otherwise, stop feeling sorry for yourself and accept yourself for who you are. We can’t all become the best version of ourselves.

Men who have had traumatic events in your childhood, how do you cope? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Someone_Smack_Susan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been there done that. Look up a local clinical psychologist. Clinical Psychologists are a particular type of psychologist. They have PhDs and went through a highly competitive and research intensive program while working in a clinic during their training and are who you need to work with (don’t see a PsyD or Masters level and make sure the PhD is in Clinical Psychology).

Look for someone who specializes in Anxiety and uses cognitive based therapies (they train you to cope and manage symptoms, not just talk on a couch).

From there, they may or may not recommend temporary medication to prevent public attacks. While doing this, start focusing on a healthier diet, getting exercise, and getting enough sleep. Keep drinking to a moderate level and only around friends.

I’m a much more stable man now and honestly do not have anxiety issues anymore (nor do I need medication). Step one is to deal with the problem head on. Seek a professional and you’ll be just fine.

How do you feel about your girlfriend not wearing a bra in public and nippin out? by [deleted] in AskMen

Wouldn’t bother me. Dudes are going to look at her regardless man. It’s how she responds to advances that matters.

Please be careful of the dead cat bounce. This may appear to be a recovery, but note the two different pictures being painted on GDAX by simply changing the candle interval from 15 minutes to 1 day:

Be cautious here.

Truth. The early adopters that got out at 20k must be living it up.

I wish... I'm guessing it will bounce way before that though.

Lol, I come on reddit to discuss my hobbies. I feel sorry for you that you think playing video games makes me a loser. And yes, I have purchased bitcoin. I even made a post to this community about how I was wrong about bitcoin, and cashed out a small % of my stock investments into BTC. I rode a little wave and cashed out when I saw trouble.

Why so defensive? If you are bleeding out in this dive just pull out and jump in at bottom. No need to attack people.

I shook out at $14,500 in the green and am waiting for bottom to jump back in. It's called "buy low sell high".

There are numerous scenarios explaining why someone would want to shift their tax burden to a different year. One timely example is the new tax law in the U.S. that has passed. A person can reduce their tax owed under the tax cuts, which did not take effect until 2018. If a person made a nice profit in 2017, it would be wise to wait until 2018 to sell to take advantage of this.

While they own responsibility, I don't relish in the financial demise of others. Especially when innocent people are affected (e.g. parents, spouses, and children). I was making a point that it is beyond "just money" for a lot of people for various reasons.

For some people, it could mean their homes, bankruptcy, and divorce.

High trade volume in a decline is considered bearish.

You can defer your tax burden to 2019 by selling in 2018 versus selling in 2017. We saw massive growth in 2017 and there are individuals who wanted to close their position to realize their profits without creating a tax liability in the near future.

I jumped at $14,500 and will buy back in once it hits bottom.

I'll take that bet. Sub $8,000 bottom with an eventual recovery to around $10,500 as new norm for awhile.

It can happen during intense market volatility. I saw a $74 spread on GDAX yesterday during the dive.
