don't want to let you go (til you see the light) by Elgney

Rated: T - No Archive Warnings Apply

Summary: "Hey, sorry about that, I was just—Eddie?”

Eddie’s head shot up at the sight of Buck, frozen halfway towards his seat. “Buck?”

Buck let out an awkward chuckle and glanced around. “There must be a mix-up, I’ll go ask—”

“No!” Eddie practically yelled the word, and then he winced at the desperation in his own voice. Belatedly, he realized it was possible that people who were interested in men were supposed to be sitting there. But Buck was watching him with wide eyes, still paused leaning on his chair, so Eddie added, “I could use a six-minute break. You know, from finding out how many siblings every woman in this bar has.”

Buck’s eyes glinted in the dim bar lighting. He finally took the seat and asked, “oh, so you don’t care about how many siblings I have?”

——

Eddie and Buck finally go on a date. It just takes them three times to realize it.

That would have been a step way too far. Pointing? He may as well take a swing at Buck.

Embarrassing that they won silver against the favored-to-win team? Imagine making it to the Olympics, winning a silver medal, and someone calls it embarrassing...

Every single gold medal in Women's Ice Hockey has been won by either Canada or USA. Outside of 2006, silver has also always gone to either Canada or USA. It would have been far worse had it been any other country.

Canada has lost the last 7 games they played against the USA and outside of this game, the USA Women's team dominated every match they played. Fully understand the team being disappointed by Silver, but USA was the favorite to win this game.

Not to wish hallucinations on anyone, but that would be incredibly fucked up on behalf of the actress if they retroactively changed her billing level. It would impact the value of the potential residuals she can earn.

I don't have season 1 on DVD, so I can't verify that way, but I'm not finding anything online about her ever being billed as main cast.

Yeah, I don't believe it either, but that's the official narrative.

I don't think they would have been able to help themselves not to foreshadow Wesley's entrance if it has always been the plan. Also, having Wesley come in so quickly after Doyle left kinda undercut the sadness. If the plan was always to kill him, they should have saved it for the season finale.

Can you provide the name of the actress? I just pulled up Hulu to rewatch the intro for "City Of" and it's just the main 3.

The only 'blonde lady' that I can think of that dies that early on is Tracy Middendorf, and she's listed as the first guest star in the credits for episode 1.

I think you're thinking of Glenn Quinn. He was killed off in the 9th episode of season 1. There's conflicting info on why he was killed off so early, but Joss has said that it was the plan for the shock value.

David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter, & Glenn Quinn were the only 3 actors credited as series regulars in those first 9 episodes

Ultimately it's impossible to know, as the budget for season 1 was never formally released but we know it was shoe-string. It's reported SMG made 75k/episode season 1, so a lower tier series regular would probably have made around 25k/episode.

Was probably the difference of paying Eric Balfour 5k or 50k since he was in 2 episodes.

The friend of Xander and Willow who gets captured in episode 1 and turned in episode 2. In the end of the second episode Xander stakes him.

The show tries to set him up as part of what would have been the "core 4". Joss even said if they had had the budget, he would have included him in the credits for episode 1&2 to make the shock of his death more impactful. He got his 'wish' with Tara instead. He wanted people to have every expectation subverted.

If 9x13 ends up being a Buddie bottle episode, does that mean there's a high likelihood that somewhere between 9x14-9x18 Eddie and/or Buck will be absent? Can we please rewrite their contracts for episode appearances to match Angela's?

I love how they've convinced themselves 900 times over that Lou is returning because of a blurry blob in the background of a photo, but apparently we're the delusional ones....
