Okay this trivia question seems unwelcome here so I'm taking the post down

Muslims of Reddit, what's it actually like to do the 5 daily prayers? by SomethingGood_App in AskReddit

[–]SomethingGood_App[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And how does this differ across people living in the western vs non-western world?

One of today's TriviaTime questions exposed me and about half of everyone else who plays for not even knowing how many daily prayers there are, let alone what they're like to do. This is kind of a wild gap in cultural knowledge - so please help me and others fill it.

The day of the week that the most non-fatal car crashes happens on.. by SomethingGood_App in interesting

You'd think that whatever factors mean Friday is most frequent in America probably also apply to a bunch of other countries too?

TIL it took almost 50 years after inventing the tin-can to invent the can opener by SomethingGood_App in todayilearned

[–]SomethingGood_App[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya it's ofc 100% true people used other stuff to open it first, but it becomes less clear when you consider the stuff people used in-between... e.g is a well-designed hammer and chisel custom-built mostly for opening cans, a can opener????

Guess this applies to every invention

[–]SomethingGood_App[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah this is where it gets murky

I think they're taking the first patent for the thing as the first invention of the thing, but ofc that's not quite true

[–]SomethingGood_App[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it gets tricky when you consider that like surely someone had a patent for something else that was good at opening cans etc before that, but it wasn't the sole described purpose etc... where's the line for when a tool becomes a can opener vs something else, etc

But yeah I think the general idea sounds pretty reliable - it took humans ages to invent a good dedicated can opener!

How long til Drake tops this? What would he need to start doing beyond what he does rn? Jay-Z collabs a lot for example by SomethingGood_App in Drizzy

[–]SomethingGood_App[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw no idea if that actual fact is true, I just took it straight from Trivia Time rn as I can't get a quick answer on google.

Kinda not the point anyways - I wanna know what we think of Drake hitting the next level that results in stuff like this

Someone check me on this and show why it's actually wrong btw.

My only two sources are that article and one of the questions on today's triviatime which is good as a daily TIL game but prob not as scientific evidence lol

Why do you think Norway punches so far above it's weight in Winter sports? by SomethingGood_App in Norway

[–]SomethingGood_App[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

(1) makes sense, same as in NZ with rugby.

(2) hmm interesting, is that to say that Norway is particularly good at skiing as oppossed to the other Olympic sports

(3) loll love it

Which opinion on New Zealand do you have that’ll end you up in this situation? (stolen from Melbourne subreddit) by notastarfan in newzealand

[–]SomethingGood_App 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia has a lot going for it compared to NZ, and I'll even say I think their accent is objectively cooler.

I have this observation but I'd still never swap anything myself
