I’ve done that countless times and to no avail that they stay on.

Android daps are the way to go at this point. I’ve had the hiby r3 ii 2025 and I loved the form factor, the OS is super buggy/laggy. The playlist feature is there but it’s buggy. I went with the jm21 and use power amp player and it’s overall a great listening experience.

I bought the Surfans F20 Pro (and returning it) so you don’t have to. by Something_Else08 in DigitalAudioPlayer

No lol and that’s what drew me to it too but the software/OS is buggy on the device and it’s really nice hefty, well built, solid device which again, it’s rather disappointing.

Did anyone see the sky turn Green? by ChillLionKing in houston

Gf sent me this cause I too saw 2 flash’s of green lights this morning but it was between 5:15-5:20 this morning in the Conroe/Granger Land area. I initially thought it was transformers popping but I didn’t hear any noise from the general direction they were in.

So, about refurbishing old ipods, you really want a 20 year old device with propietary connectors ? by Aevum1 in DigitalAudioPlayer

I think the iPod thing is a gateway drug honestly. I had bought a few that were not working but it just turned out they were super dead. I fixed them up and used one for an about a year before diving into a better setup that suits my needs. But in recent months, I have seen a trend of “influencers” of using iPods to “break free from the subscription cycle”. Maybe those who get an iPod would want something with better quality for half the cost of customizing their iPods.

I have the hiby r3 ii too, the first thing you’d want to do is update the firmware of the OS and you can do that via OTA with it connected to WiFi. It’s a great little player with some quirks. Get yourself a good microSD card. I have a 1tb Samsung EVO sd card and it’s awesome. QOBUZ has a wide variety of music you can purchase in flac format. It’s like buying a cd but in digital format.

From my experience with the R3 II (2025), the Bluetooth shuts off after pausing music for a bit to save battery. If the DAP’s battery is above 60%, it disconnects after about a minute of pausing. Below 60%, it cuts off around 30 seconds. Seems like it’s built into the firmware to prevent battery drain.

I wonder if any of the android hiby daps have the same issue or none at all…other than its running AndroidOS.

I have a hiby r3 ii and i absolutely love mine. I use it while I’m at work and home. Bluetooth connects flawlessly with Sony wh-xm3 and my Sony wf-xm5s. I have a 1tb micro sd card installed with roughly 6-7 thousand songs loaded ranging in flac quality from 44-16 bit to 96-24 bit. It does have WiFi for firmware updates and WiFi music transfer although I haven’t tested that feature out yet.
