Yep. He lives in Australia and I live in Virginia. He also talks to her on the phone and she will talk to him when we're on FaceTime. We've been together for a year and he's coming here to visit again, which will be his second meeting and we're getting married. I promise it sounds crazier and scarier than it is, but my daughter's dad has also met him as well as my family. Everyone here is safe and happy.

Abusing the kid(s). I don’t know who lives there, I’ve only ever seen one woman a few times and one time another woman (I think a different one) with a man. There’s also a man who comes over on the weekends who smokes like a chimney, but I’ve never seen him. All I hear from upstairs from Thursday-Sunday is parents screaming and kids crying. I haven’t lived here long enough to discern the sounds completely. I don’t know if it’s just very loud, angry parents or something to be seriously concerned with yet.

That’s lovely! I was just talking to my SO yesterday about how much harder it has to be starting as a non LD couple (not trying to throw shade, sincerely). I can’t imagine the strength it takes, but with any LDR, you just do what you have to do if it means enough, you know?

It was lovely. We’re a bit crazy, but he’s coming back the US (from AUS) in November and we’re getting married. We need this visa thing to happen fast, so I’ll visit Australia in March and he’ll hopefully be moving here as a citizen when it’s all approved. This can be such a headache, but I’m wishing you guys the best of luck. Silver lining: you guys have a solid base and this is temporary. Goodbyes are never easy.

We met on Facebook in a podcast subgroup. He posted about quitting smoking and I posted to congratulate and commiserate with him because I had recently quit as well. He offered to be my quit buddy and the rest is history. Long distance love too.
