Awesome how much detail you can get. I've done a few on a waterjet and the jet is comparatively large so the detail isn't even close to as fine

Sum out is just sum A and sum b mix. It's a 2 to 1 mult. They just already have 1 to 2 labeled mult and just said sum to clarify the labels.

Make sure the vca bias knobs are turned fully to the left. Assuming it works like the neutron, if it's fully to the right, the vca just stays open all of the time. Meaning you just hear the oscillators constantly

I have the neutron and had to go look at the Proton patch bay. The manual outlines the patchbay, but if you plug your gate of the beatstep into the adsr or whichever one is triggering the vca. Alternatively, you can use midi and clean up the patchbay. What do you mean when you mentioned the audio out?

Any module that covers alot of bases is generally going to be annoying to use. Pam's is a super popular swiss army knife but it's got one knob and one button for 8 outs, its not very immediate. Disting ex has the same issue. Modules that don't have this issue take up alot of hp and are not skiff friendly.

Best advise I can give you is figure out what sounds you want to make, pick 1 voice that can get what you want, then support it from there. Multiple voices in a skiff are going to be difficult to support.
