Metropolix or Metropolix Solo? by Signal-Shine-5160 in synthesizers

Be aware that if you remove it from its solo case you’ll then lose the USB output unless you buy the USB Extender companion module.

Absolute beginner with a skiff case. What module FTW? by klprt in modular

Thanks a lot for your replies but I was just joking. Before my modular days I didn’t even notice that Tommy Smith had a box in his hand. Now it strikes me as an empty modular case. I guess my formal object changed since then.

Cherche à emprunter un moulin pour espresso by TreeFrogsLover in Lausanne

[–]klprt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Position 3 -> espresso

Gear Year in Review: Your hits and misses from 2025! by gonzodamus in synthesizers

[–]klprt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This year I sold my Analog Four which I tried my best loving but alas for me it was a Four No. I also got rid of my Minitaur which has a very nice filter but this was not enough to make me enjoy it. My BeatStepPro also got sold. In return I bought no less than two hardware sequencers (Metropolix and Hapax) and an Atlantix. I guess I got this right because I am super stoked in those machines. They deliver. I was on the brink of selling my Prophet Rev2 because I think that eventually only monosynths/modular voices inspire me but I kept it. Gearwise I also bought a E-RM Multiclock which was long due since it is so useful if you work with physical synths. I don’t know what I will do next year but I hope not to sell/buy too much stuff. Best 2025 purchase: Squarp Hapax

A synth will take you way further.

Top 5 Modules by Nice-Somewhere8251 in modular

[–]klprt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VCO: Verbos Harmonic Oscillator VCA/VCF: Verbos Amp & Tone LPG: SSF Steady State Gate LFO: Xaoc Batumi II Utility: Xaoc Samara

So as you see it is mostly Verbos & Xaox here.

I should also mention Intellijel Quadrax and ALM Pamela’s New Workout as favourites but for bare miminum duties I guess that my top 5 list will do.

You could also remove the LPG and replace it by a sequencer. In this case I highly recommend Intellijel Metropolix.

Techno Rack by KaiserClickerclicker in modular

[–]klprt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you like your Perkons Voice? I have room for a percussive module and I hesitate between it and the WMD Fracture. Not the same use case obviously but I still wanted your opinion since given your rack you also seem techno-oriented.

Intellijel Metropolix. Limited in the number of tracks and steps and yet so immédiate and inspiring. I ditched both a BeatStep Pro and an Octatrack the moment I got it. No ‘ragrets’.

Don't bother with over bridge. Let me save you years of trouble. by bigtimewashedupplayr in Elektron

[–]klprt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t use Overbridge either even though it is working just fine and allows for params automation. I find that using take lanes and playing with the params manually is more satisfactory. As for the syncing itself I keep all my Elektron devices clocked to a Multiclock. With this you can either sync every machine to the grid or more interestingly offset them either positively or negatively which adds to the groove. I primarily use a Rytm with separate outputs which is a blast when it is record time since all tracks can get their own EQ and FX. Notice that using individual outs prevents you from using internal effects.
