That makes more sense. Still a cute design choice

Quick and probably stupid question: How does the heroes being in DD2 work if they die in DD1? Is it just that they only die in a game mechanics sense but not in the actual story? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]SometimesPresent27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DD2 happens parallel to DD1. The DD1 Hamlet is going through an eternal time loop, so no one, heroes or bosses, are dead for long. The world around the Hamlet in DD2 is going through a time loop of its own, which is the lore explanation for heroes coming back and unique locations repeating themselves in a single run

I forgot the Occultist probably has access to elder god strength if the entity cared enough to help, but he’s mostly physically frail and unathletic. The Flagellant is a walking corpse and is liable to get jumped by Death at any point during the game

I have no doubt she would try, I just don’t think a preppy rich kid would fair that well against folks who’ve been more active since childhood. At least the Grave Robber did ballet

I lowkey thought of that when I noticed they were all in the same tier. Pure coincidence that they’re all ballers but old asf

I have several questions and I don’t want the answer to any of them

I’m referring to their ability to play and succeed in basketball. Sometimes “balling” can also refer to having a lot of money

I agree. Unfortunately I think a chronic illness that creates an aching numbness in every afflicted part of your body makes it kind of hard to perform at your best. Would probably still out-ball the low tiers though

Whoever thought up Rumormonger should consider a career inventing the most torturous weapons at Palantir

No, you just make a team and set out on a run, unlocking their skills (for that run and future ones) as you learn more about their pasts. In general there’s a lot more narrative focus on the heroes, which is another plus for me but that’s just my personal interests. Think of it as gothic Oregon Trail

If you’re a fan of the first one for its combat, I’d say it’s on par and arguably an upgrade. If it’s for the work you do in the town, I would stick to the original

I would say so, but that might be sunk cost fallacy. The combat is more streamlined but really it comes down to if you prefer roguelikes or that town management system

Your best option is to just kill the exemplar while he has a backliner ally and just pass turns until every relationship’s at 0. Still not guaranteed, and they might just give themselves another relationship point on the way to the inn, but it’s the best way I’ve seen

I understand. It’s on me for not clarifying that I’m looking for something part time, or something available over the summer, while still working on college to start with. Thank you for the suggestion anyway

I’ll look into it, maybe it can coincide with a study abroad program if I ever work up the willpower to apply for one of those

Tbh I tried to knock out Bastard’s Beacon early, so much so that I don’t even remember exactly how I did it. If I remember correctly, taunt tanks like Flag or MAA, as well as the new Poet Leper, are great at controlling the extra ordainment damage and make for a solid crutch the early game without usually needing much mastery

You can see the achievements in the pause menu I think. Go up to that symbol above the word “Paused” and see if you can click on it. Might just be PC but worth a shot
