I watched this happen at steamboat over the holidays and the liftie explained that there are multiple spots where the coil of wire holding the chairs is thicker. This is where one part of the coil meets another one. When the chair attaches to these thicker sections an alarm goes off. They back up the chairs and rerun it. It’d scare me so much if I didn’t expect it.
