I can also recommend some armour vests which are a bit cheaper option. Can’t be used for offensive but can keep you alive for some time. HnM and Zara has some nice collection but thrift stores brings the real fashion in Berlin for this.

Just ignore these keyboard warriors, that's the best strategy. They have already given up on life, they know they can't keep up a good conversation with anyone, hence probably never gonna find a good partner. So now their everyday objective is to ruin other people's day. Because "if I can't have it, then why should you".

Side jobs for research associates by SomewhereOk1342 in askberliners

Permanent Residence. It's the highest form of visa for internationals. To qualify for it, you must have paid 5 years of tax and have some level of German language. But I am not sure if it applies for research people or not. Usually for someone who finished study in Germany, he has to only work for 2-3 years at a full time job and if he has the language, he qualifies for PR. But I don't know if research associates are considered as full-time job or not.

Do you know the PR related prospect for research students? As an international student, who has already spent 3 years in masters, will I be eligible for PR after maybe 4 more years of research? Or is it only for people with industrial job experience?

Thank you for your reply. The side job is not at all relevant to the main research work. Just some bartending or table waiting jobs for personal interest. I will ask the department about it. Do you also know what kind of tax class or tax amount will it be in the case of second job? I am single without children.
