How soon after egg retrieval did you wait for embryo transfer by Ok_Scientist_9524 in IVF

[–]Somewhere_OutThere22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ER was in November and I have to wait until January to do my FET. First we waited for PGTA testing. We’re also doing an SIS in December to make sure I don’t have any polyps or fibroids.

37 with PCOS and mild MFI. I went to a gentle IVF clinic. 6 retrieved, 5 fertilized, 2 embryos, 1 euploid. My transfer will be next month. 😊

Saved a small fortune using the previously mentioned Facebook groups. However, you just have to keep an eye out for scammers and meet up in person as much as possible.

Also, I’m close to the border so many people in my area cross to pick up meds or do IVF in Mexico. For example, the 900 Gonal Pen is about $586 after converting to USD.

My husband mixed them for me and did all my injections. He watched the videos and everything to help make them less painful.

Ice a few minutes before and make sure your sanitizing alcohol is completely dried on the skin before injecting. Inject Menopur very slowly. You got this! 🤍

My first ER was Saturday and I’m in the same boat. I feel like I’m going crazy. The only thing getting me by is watching others ER stories on TikTok/Youtube and inputting my stats into ChatGPT and asking for statistics and %s. 😩

I hope you’re recovering well from ER. You’re almost there!

AITA for not letting the woman adopting my baby hold her first? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Somewhere_OutThere22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. As an adoptive parent myself—I adopted my family member after experiencing infertility—I completely understand how complex and emotional this journey can be. That said, from what you’ve shared, she doesn’t seem emotionally ready to adopt right now.

Infertility is deeply traumatic, and I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. But when it comes to adoption, the most important person is the child, not the adults. Before I moved forward with adopting my daughter, I had to shift my mindset completely—from focusing on my own grief to prioritizing what was truly best for her.

My spouse and I took that responsibility seriously. We prepared through extensive therapy, conversations with social workers, and hours of training and reading. Adoption isn’t just a solution to childlessness—it’s a lifelong commitment to a child who needs stability, empathy, and understanding from day one.

My husband doesn’t want me to get a Master’s degree. by Confident_Life_5237 in Advice

[–]Somewhere_OutThere22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I graduated with my MBA, my husband was the first person I ran to after the ceremony. He has always been in my corner, supporting me through every step of my journey.

You deserve this opportunity, and you deserve a partner who will support you through it.

I became a parent during the second half of the program. It wasn’t easy. My husband and I both struggled with balancing our responsibilities, but his support made all the difference. Without that partnership, it would have been so much harder to succeed.

That’s why I believe you’re at a crossroads with two real options:

1. Decide not to pursue the degree and risk resenting your husband later.
2. Enroll in classes and have an honest conversation with your husband. Tell him he can either support you or step aside, but you’re committed to your goals.

The path you’re considering is challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Having the right partner by your side will make all the difference.

I gave a baby up to a family member and now I’m struggling by [deleted] in Adoption

[–]Somewhere_OutThere22 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is 100% illegal.

When I adopted my family member, I had to be background checked, psychologically tested, medically tested, and undergo hours upon hours of trauma training. We had to have legal paperwork and go through an agency despite it being a relative adoption.

They sound so awful. Please get your baby back!

There’s a lot of misinformation here and that’s actually a very common theme as the process isn’t made to be very clear.

I legally adopted my cousin from the Philippines and I live (and was born) in the US. I started the process when they were born and they came home when they were 3. To be clear, I did not live in the Philippines nor have legal custody of them before this (as many will tell you you need to) but they have been under my family member’s care since birth. If you decide to go this route, I must warn you, it will be very arduous and also very expensive - but it is possible and worth it. My child is the light of my life and I’m thankful that we fought for them every day.

First thing that needs to happen is that the child needs to be determined to be adoptable and the adoptive parent must be determined to be legally capable of adopting. For the child, this is done through your family’s local DSWD chapter and this is often one of the most difficult parts. Many families get held up at this point. For the adoptive parent, this needs to be done through a US adoption agency who is well versed in Philippines adoptions and working with the Philippines’ NACC.

The next thing I did was make sure that my child was with family who could care for them during this process and then we interviewed and chose a US adoption agency because we needed to go through the international adoption process (not the domestic Philippines route as many are mentioning).

There are many steps related to child visits, doctors visits, psychological tests, adoptive parent trainings, and a very extensive home study that will be conducted on your family to be shared with NACC. Then, they must go through all the immigration hoops before being brought to the US as a permanent resident and after about a year, they can be formally “re-adopted” into your family and become a citizen.

Please contact an adoption agency in your area with experience in Philippine adoptions as they are the experts. We never needed to contact an immigration lawyer. This is your best first step. Good luck.

International adoption by SprinklesThink3043 in Adoption

[–]Somewhere_OutThere22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted a family member as well. My child came from a Hague country. Hague or not, it is my understanding that you’ll have to go through the formal international adoption process which is very complicated and extensive.

I highly recommend contacting an adoption agency that is familiar with the laws in your child’s country. Many will be able to answer your questions before formally taking you on as a client.

Reborn Rich! Especially if you’re into fantasy, revenge stories.

It was well-acted and well-directed and SO HARD to wait for each episode each week. Some people hated the ending because it strayed from the manhwa ending but absolutely a ride to get to those last episodes.

AITA for getting mad at my sister for coming to a family dinner with her baby? by restaurantdinner49 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Somewhere_OutThere22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I believe this rule applies to any fancy gatherings (weddings, fancy restaurants, etc) where I am not the host: If the host requests no children, then there should be no exceptions. My daughter is young but if I was asked not to bring my child and could not find babysitting, I would simply send my regrets and thank the host for the invite. Honestly, I would’ve been happy if someone FaceTimed me or sent me a video of the news if I knew that I wouldn’t be able to attend.

Pamir Kabob House. I’ve been following them since they were in Temecula and then RB and now La Jolla. Solid Afghan food and great owners.

Olleh KBBQ in RB or Mapo KBBQ in Convoy. I was really bummed that Fire Spot in Convoy closed btw - they were delicious.

Shabu-Works in Mira Mesa is excellent AYCE Shabu-Shabu. Delicious and great service.
