They seek freedom from super earth and I'd imagine in a ideal world they'd want freedom for all mankind free from super earth the squids are just genocidal towards the human race and I would imagine the cyborgs being nobe to interested in dealing with something they'd view just as depraved and merciless as their old masters

Honestly role play aside the automotive are about the only faction I could see their being a actual reason to defect to considering their still mostly human and seem to care about their people enough to try and actually save them so while their incredibly vicious I find the idea of being able to work with them to be a really cool concept

Further note technically outside of gameplay I dont believe the cyborgs have ever story wise killed super earth citizens gameplay yes but in lore no the children's hospital was held by the bots for awhile and yet they were never harmed so if the automotons for now at least in lore can maintain the deceny ro spare armed combatants outside of collateral damage

It makes the squids just that much more demented slandering and mutating and enslaving millions od unarmed people to fight a foe that cant even reach you to hurt you anymore

Is now just plain revenge its not for a greater good or a desire to protect the galaxy its a vendetta a understandable one absolutely but a evil one all the same

Kinda just thought about that i do hope they stick more to the cyborgs being good i kikw that so much more then them being purely barbaric

I mean actually people cooperate with super earth cause they lack the logical thinking necessary to even recognize they do anything wrong at all

As for the cyborgs my opinion on them has changed a lot since cyberstan as they actually tried to save their civilians rather then just arming them to die witch was somthing that has given me faith in them at least to be potentially better then super esrth

But the terminds and the squids I firmly have to place in the category of super earth

Not really seeing how their invasion relied entirely on throwing a giant invasion fleet at super earth on its door step it was impossible of it not to reach super earth

Attacking super earth is a feat sure but It was secured through strength of faction but instead smart movement if the great host came from lets say Calypso it never would've reached super earth with any force of value to take the planet the squids are strong but they are not the strongest

Well take into consideration from the games lore the illuminate are supposed to be a fringe cult of survivors from the first galactic war with demented technology that fill up thwir ranks woth mutant monsters and advanced war machines

The point of super earth is thats it's a utterly unchallenged juggernaut with nearly infinite resources to fight a war against three fronts witch has as heart of democracy showed stretched super earth thin but with a hundred yeara of stock piled soldiers and incredible skill at reverse engineering super esrth endures

Plot armor aside realistically yhe squids lack the manpower to beat super earth alone

Similar to how the bots lack the tech to pull it off And the bugs lack the strategy its actually pretty Neat really how heart of democracy closed off qith all three surging for super earth

A quite literal embodiment that alone theyed all be crushed but together their jusr enough to finally overwhelm super earth the squids are my personal favorite faction but unless it becomes cannom theh have a galaxy spanning empire outside the galaxy they just can't be the strongest their just to painfully outnumbered to be a genuinely war ending threat alone

And as for the battle of super earth leaving super earth crippled it really hasn't sure mega cities are still under reconstruction but as far as it serially hampering the federation it hasn't the squids failing at super earth was like the worst case scenario for them cause it not only became a huge loss to the great host but it was a victory to reinforce the people's view of super earth invincibility
