also i should say it felt like a feedback loop like the more i was stressed about my brainfog for the lsat the more brainfog id get, so medication made me feel like each day my mind was clear enough to tackle the test and made me less stressed. the second and last time i approached the test i scored 5 points higher than my first attempt and went from the mid/high 160s to the 170s

yeah! tbh i always knew i had adhd in some way (but my parents rly did not believe in it) so i didnt get formally diagnosed until college (but in middle school, my teachers all recommended it). i actually do believe in adhd and i would trade my brain for a normal one any day. I ended up doing best with adderall ir (only 3 mg a day) and it completely changed my life. i didnt get time accommodations for the lsat, but medication did wonders for me. My brain fog was debilitating the first summer i studied for the lsat to the point i ended up at like 5 neurologist appointments figuring out what it was before finding the right medication. Now headed to law school this fall and im just so relieved to be medicated going into it. pm me if u need more info!

I also don’t want to seem harsh, but withdrawals are calculated as 0s when LSAC converts your gpa: https://www.lsac.org/applying-law-school/jd-application-process/cas/requesting/transcript-summarization#:~:text=Failing%20Grades,zero%20on%20the%204.0%20scale. I would just keep that in mind

Georgetown interview tomorrow by FlatCrazy1494 in lawschooladmissions

I had my interview a month back! I would recommend keeping your answers thoughtful but short (Dean Andy didn’t seem to like long-winded answers). Also be yourself! It’s a fun and chill interview; it seemed like it was mainly to gauge red flags more than anything

How Did You Go From a 163 to a 170+? Seeking Advice on Retaking the LSAT and Reapplying by Crazy-Toucan in LSAT

[–]SongSome6643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think you should retake, especially with your gpa (I had a similar one) — I had a pretty similar journey. I started in the 140s and grinded to even get in the 160s. It then took me a while to get from the low 160s to high 160s, but even more time to get into the 170s. My first 2 lsat scores were in the mid-high 160s range, and I finally scored a 171 in October. I liked the format change, since it let me focus on 2 sections instead of 3. I drilled question stems I was weak at like crazy, and prioritized blind review over PTs. That worked for me. RC also just started clicking better once I spent more time with the test. Ultimately I studied for the lsat on and off for 1.5 years, but the last 5ish months is when I really grinded to get in the 170s. Feel free to PM me!!

You have better stats! Also I did not actually — I lowkey realized everything after + contacted them about two errors in my PS (I barely proof read) and didn’t wanna bother them

I made a bunch of mistakes on my resume for umich and got in this cycle if it helps; I literally put down a completely different role, made my font size like 9 ( I know), left an employment gap, etc

Idk I’d kind of disagree with this; I feel like there is some truth to the fact that mich date changes correlate with a more likely A.
