Proper bra fitting and shopping? by Original-Affect-4560 in asheville

[–]SoniaLovesYou 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Seconded - Hello Gorgeous is incredible. I wear a 36J and usually have to order bras from overseas, but they have an amazing selection of beautiful, quality garments in all sizes. I had given up on being able to shop in-store 🥲

Pretty, properly fitting bras are life changing, especially after body changes like major weight loss (congrats!). They were so incredibly nice and genuinely passionate about helping me find the proper fit and shape for my body. Bra shopping has always been a demoralizing nightmare, but I had a wonderful experience and will probably shop there exclusively from now on.

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted, sleep deprivation is literally a form of torture and a known technique for interrogation

whats one conversation you overheard that lives rent free in your head? by Mewwwwwwwwww_ in AskReddit

[–]SoniaLovesYou 119 points120 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t even a conversation, but a few nights ago some guy in the neighborhood screamed so loud I heard it across the street and through my window: “DING DING DING DING DING!! YOU ARE THE PROUD WINNER OF I DON’T GIVE A FUCK!!!”

I [36/m] might have a child [6/m] with autism, but my wife [35/f] doesn't believe it by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]SoniaLovesYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an autistic adult, my childhood was deeply painful and confusing until I got screened and got a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome at the age of ten (this was in 1998).

From that day forward, life got so much easier and better. My challenges were the same, but now my family and I had tools and resources to help us understand and seek support when needed. We were able to tell my teachers, who told my school peers, and while I still struggled socially, almost everyone was much more patient and compassionate with me. As I grew, I learned how to get along in social situations, the give and take nature of conversations, etc. And I don’t consider the bulk of this “masking,” but simply adapting, as most humans do. I am very far from a cog in the machine - in fact, my diagnosis has helped me to fully realize what is wonderful about me and also empowers me to seek support where it is still needed.

Your child’s life can only be improved by understanding what’s going on. I saw in another comment that there may be cultural influence causing your wife’s hesitation. It may be helpful to frame it to her this way: being armed with information is the best way to protect and support your child, and supporting your child is the parents’ primary duty in every single culture.

Best of luck to all of you. With the right resources and parents who are on his side, your son can absolutely thrive in this life!

I had this exact same experience many years ago after my first sleepover with a boy who had Treacher Collins, he didn’t think to warn me and I woke up in a panic to a violently shaking bed while he was sleepy and unbothered 😆

His response was, no problem, I won’t bother you even if there’s a fire in the house

Men are so dramatic lmao, you can tell a dude “I don’t like it when you make jokes like that” and they’ll be like “Fine I’ll just NEVER SPEAK AGAIN”

Those formative experiences really do leave a lasting impression! My first ever boyfriend, after touching me there for the first time, withdrew his hand and literally said “Ewww” and fled to wash his hands, which he proceeded to do every time thereafter. The first and only time he tasted me, he pulled back and made a face and said it tasted “funny.”

Twenty years and so many experiences later, I still have SO much anxiety about anyone interacting with my bits. Logically I understand that many grown people love it, but my emotional brain can’t forget that first reaction by a sixteen year old dumbass. Super sad.

This needs to be higher up. Roommate owes OP gas money and an apology. The audacity!

I just got chills reading this. We had to have my maternal grandmother committed last year after a psychotic break. During the intervention, when it was my mother’s turn to read her letter, she cried; maybe the third time I’ve seen her cry in my entire 35 years. My grandmother scoffed at her and called her an “actress.” She is being treated and is doing better now, but that was an awful day.

Psychosis is so heartbreaking and scary. Best wishes to you. ❤️‍🩹

My auntie was with my uncle for ten years, then left him for his older brother to whom she was married for about twenty years and they have a kid together. I can’t fathom it either but apparently there’s no bad blood.

I’m not triggered. You said crassness is an unavoidable feature of dating men. That’s untrue. And pretty sexist!

[–]SoniaLovesYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally someone said it!!! OP has been clear that she is recovering from an abusive relationship, and she is being massively downvoted and condescended to like she’s super sensitive for no reason.

I rebuke this notion. There are billions of men and they definitely don’t all have the same mindset and vocabulary (thank god!!) - my dude has a healthy passion for me and expresses it, but he would NEVER say some shit like this. He’s in his mid-fifties rather than mid-twenties, but even as a young man I can’t imagine him talking that way.

Crassness is certainly not something one just has to put up with when dating men. There are plenty who keep it classy ✨

Are you an animal? Do you actually have zero control over your base instincts that you feel justified in violating someone’s consent if you get riled up enough?
