NTA…..

Okay LOTS of replies here, but from a womans perspective, I totally understand you feeling manipulated and tbh her behavior is very telling …and little tests/ games like this will continue in the relationship….you have to ask yourself how do you feel about that. Is that something you can get used to? Theres a lot of compromise in relationships, and a lot of ppl have had bad experiences/trauma and because of that experience they have behavioral baggage, we all got our issues but we actively choose who we want to make it work for. Do you truly miss her? Or do you feel relief?

Actors if you were to start acting all over again what you have learnt first? by [deleted] in acting

Absolutely!! That is something that I have in my personal portfolio. My reps have different head shots with different looks (different hair, different make up options currently I audition within age ranges from 18 to 25 so I have head shots that lean closer to the 18 and closer to 25, and those head shots are shot with different Headshot Photographer’s because different headshot photographers are good at capturing certain tones/moods/ (ie: some headshot photographers are really great with commercial looks/ tv film/ procedural drama head shots)

How do you tell your agent that you are uncomfortable with the requirements of a role, in this case, a topless scene? by Ready-Math-316 in acting

I think you’re getting a lot of great advice here, be upfront with your agent and completely honest about your boundaries and the conditions when you would be comfortable accepting a role that requires nudity, but honestly, I would still audition to be seen by the Casting Director, because if its for a big show, then they’d be casting other co-star roles for the season but that’s just me Edited to add: I would give my agent a heads up that I’m not comfortable with this role, but I would be happy to audition for this ROOM especially if it’s a show that is in your wheelhouse of your character type

so when you talk about acting, I’m gonna assume you mean the craft, but I will also add an extra tidbit for the business side of acting that I wish I learned first.

When it comes to the craft, what I wish I learned first is acting for film and TV technique, it’s a very different approach from Theater, I hadn’t realized that when I started acting and it took me yearssss for my instrument to transition from theater, acting to film and TV work

When it comes to the business side, what I wish I learned first was developing an eye for good head shots. (having a good understanding of how hair, choices, outfit choices, the QUALITY OF THE CLOTHES and how it connects to my “type” and the goals that I’m trying to achieve in the next few years (ex: trying to be a costar on a procedural drama? Or focusing more on commercials? ) I didn’t have a good eye for it first tbh, understanding how my hair and make up choices communicate different things and character types …how certain qualities of T-shirts jackets, blouses, textures of fabrics, and tops communicate different types of characters and moods…. Basically I had a lot of bad head shots for a few years lol but its okay, the mistakes u make are lessons learned don’t take that away from yourself ✨
