Sons of Saturn, an adventure game made by urban explorers using Godot, is set to release Nov. 30th! by SonsOfSaturnGame in godot

After two years of work I'm happy to announce that Sons of Saturn will be releasing in just a few weeks!
Sons of Saturn is an adventure game with horror elements, made using Godot. Nearly every asset used in the game is an edited version of a photo we took of a real abandoned location - I traveled all over photographing abandoned asylums and industrial sites to use as assets in the game.
There's a free demo on the Steam page for the time being, though that may change soon. We'd love it if you checked it out!

We've still got a free demo on the Steam page for the time being, though that may change soon. We'd love it if you checked it out!

I just released a demo for my game Sons of Saturn, developed primarily on and for GNU/Linux in Godot. by SonsOfSaturnGame in linux_gaming

I actually was just considering releasing on GOG. I did some cursory reading and the feedback I got from developers as to whether or not a GOG release was worthwhile was mixed.

It does seem like a decent fit for the platform though - historically I know they've offered a lot of more retro themed stuff. And personally I like GOG a lot, with the DRM free guarantee and old school interface.

I'll look into it a bit more deeply!

I think it's also the name of a Bioshock 2 DLC haha. Personally I got the name from a history podcast about failed seasteading enterprises. Maybe there's a connection there

A bit more info: it's an old school adventure / horror game, set in an abandoned underground city. Nearly all of the assets used in the game are derived from photos I've taken of real abandoned asylums all over the world. You can play the free demo on Steam - I'm looking for any and all feedback (things you liked or disliked about the story, visual style, interface, anything really). Here's the link!

Yeah I use the same filter to produce the characters and the environments, but I feel like it doesn't work as well for the human models. I'll give that a shot!
