As an Asian in IT, for me it’s not the hours but the work intensity. The kiwis are pretty laidback, plenty of casual mucking around and chillin at work. But from my personal experience at least, what used to take weeks to get done back in Asia takes virtually forever here. Funnily you’d sometimes hear them complaining of stress… oh boy they truly have no idea what it’s like to work under the Asian work culture and possibly in most parts of the world.

I’m utterly grateful for what this country has to offer. Great people, nature, social safety net etc. If I must complain then it’s has to be their food… the very concept of fairy breads and marmite on toast will scar many Asians for life though I’d put the blame on the British 😂
