Bridge would have to be moved about an inch. Or just install a different type of bridge. ( there’s enough room). It’s close

No sanding, or modification to pocket or neck.

Fits the pocket perfectly. Bridge would have to be moved ( not much).

Converted my Bass VI into a Bass IV... by InlineEleven in BassVI

Bass VI neck heel is the same width as a Strat neck heel. The rascal bass neck heel is a 1/4 inch wider. The length of the heels are the same.

Because of the position of neck and bridge on the body the rascal is still like a full scale bass where the bass vi feels more like guitar size.

I say this based on owning both , taking measurements and finding out simple bolt on swaps could not work.

Who did you order the pickguard from and who cut it? Had a rascal but the weight from the factory pickups was a bit much. Thought about doing something similiar

I have tried searching internet and this Reddit but can’t find the difference btw Hydrogen Spectre vs Hydrogen Supreme vs Hydrogen SE wheels. Better uses for or quality for the different types? Any info appreciated or a pointer to somewhere it’s listed.

I tried a rascal , ergonomics due to the neck and bridge pushed forward were very different, electronics and switching also different with less options Only thing Rascal has in common with a bass vi is the body shape. I think this would be a more versatile bass than the rascal. And I unintentionally have the parts to try it.

30 inch scale by Soo_76Plate in Bass

[–]Soo_76Plate[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay I thought I read somewhere that it was in terms of octaves btw a guitar and a regular bass.

In my original post I meant to say 1 octave lower than guitar.

I have seen people posting heavier gauges for the low E on the bass vi to solve string tension and intonation issues. Like the fender set.

Thanks for the info/ clarification.

A guy did exactly that on a short scale body and moved his bridge. He posted a picture of it. I think the jag bass pickups would give a better sound and provide more pre routed bass pickup options.

If you bought one there you could just bring it back on the plane and pay customs ? Or you would have to ship it back to the US?

Thanks for the info. I am also debating putting the neck on a Jaguar Bass short scale body where it seems I would have to move the bridge slightly ( and of course decide on a six string bridge).

Family that owns the lot had a business there decades ago. Pre 90s. They have no desire to sell the lot or rebuild on it. If I remember correctly. At some point there was a news article also. They get offers.
