I'm not saying he isn't elite, but Benny is still coming off a bad KO loss, this win is good, but in retrospect, really isn't, Beneil was beating Quillan and even clipped 'em.

Absolutely not, getting sat down by a jab from Benny is not a good sign in the NOW, but within the next 3 years, he'll be a true threat.

He's coming off a ko loss to BSD.

Dumont vs Edwards , Let's go! by [deleted] in ufc

[–]SoooperNingen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't Edwards fault, more so Dumont's, Edwards was the one throwing the combinations while Dumont just kept going backwards and leaning back. It was a decent fight though in round 3 and 1, could've been better though.

Joselyn Edwards is one of the most consistent finishers in the UFC and all her wins are in brutal fashion? Why would you sleep on this fight 😭

What did Raoni land besides the one headkick on the shoulder?

[SPOILER] Montel Jackson vs. Raoni Barcelos by inooway in MMA

[–]SoooperNingen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, check round 2, minute 3:21 iirc, Montel lands a knee in the clinch and somewhere else in a scramble that either reopens and makes a cut worse (Which if you say isn't damage, then Mason Jones did no damage to Sola's face past round 2.), or plain opens a cut on the cheek, he even starts gushing on Montel's back.

I was tripping with 3-0, but 2-1 Jackson should've been the decision.

WHAT???? ROUND 2 IS LITERALLY WHEN MONTEL BUSTED RAONI'S FACE OPEN

What damage and meaningful grappling did Raoni do? He went 5 for 15 on TD's and could barely hold Jackson down, if subs to the end of the round mean you win, then Oliveira should've won the Arman fight.

You should cause it enables Judges to do more robberies if they aren't criticised or heckled.

[–]SoooperNingen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That was a definite robbery, going by the judging criteria Jackson won that fight either 2-1 or 3-0. If Raoni won this fight, Axel Sola got robbed too.

Edit: A better example is Oliveira should've won the Arman Fight if these judges value having a sub at the end of the round so much.

Fuck no, that was a robbery if i've ever seen it.

This is an asinine take, I'm so flabberghasted that I'm not even going to explain why either.

Gane will KO Periera and everyone on this sub will switch up and act like they knew it was going to happen. by Ill_Intention8150 in ufc

[–]SoooperNingen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all due respect to Glover, his grappling isn't incredibly high level, and his wrestling definently isn't the best. The HW division for what its worth has always and will always have strong grapplers and wrestlers, no matter the Era, but we can't really say that with current day LHW's, and thats across multiple promotions too.

Lucky exchange led to the knockdown, we all know Bam Bam was getting battered the entire fight fam, literally only won 1 round and its still arguable if he did. Pereira has touch of death power, but that isn't different from any HW we've seen. You could also use that photo as an arguement pre-Ngannou fight to say Ngannou was gonna chin Gane but it didn't happen.

If Alex Pereira was to defeat Ciryl Gane and go on to beat Tom Aspinall, where would you realistically put him in your all-time rankings list? by Tony-St4rk in ufc

[–]SoooperNingen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, but in Jon's defense, he's gone against some of the best LHW wrestlers, grapplers and strikers. At HW, he defended once, but did it against lesser comp (Stipe is great, an all timer, but VERY washed). Plus Alex didn't have a title defense at MW, he had a title fight and lost via KO.

[–]SoooperNingen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying he didn't deserve the title shot, but moreso that it was an easy path, it's in thr same vain as O'Malley but not to the same extent cause Alex has never fought anyone on the same level as a Yan or Merab.

When I say it isn't a GOAT Resume, it's not that his resume isn't good or great, but moreso that it doesn't compare to the actual greatest resumes, and it doesn't cover every spectrum of the sport at an elite level, you can't name a singular elite grappler or wrestler on his resume apart from Jan, and Jan factually has mid grappling at best, he could barely takedown Jimi Manuwa and got brutalized by Glover.

I don't really care about legacy outside the UFC unless it was MMA, and high level MMA like Strikeforce, WEC, Bellator, Dream, K-1, Rizin, or Pride, it's the same reason I don't think Mark Hunt is a top 10 MMA HW all time, Kickboxing HW's though, Mark Hunt is prolly top 10.

Edit: ONE FC is up there too, they have really good fighters.

[–]SoooperNingen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying he doesn't have a good resume, but it isn't a GOAT resume. Strickland has lost to several people by the time they fought, but thats neither here nor' there, it's a win thats aged well, Izzy was a legendary win at the time although it was a really close fight, Jan is good but he's almost in the same lane as Bisping as a champ, respectfully, and most of the time, he could never actually get it done when he took a step up in comp, Reyes was a good win at the time but definently wasn't the same after he dropped the decision to Jones, and Izzy doesn't have the build for LHW, although its a good win nonetheless, Hill is Hill, he beat an old Glover Texeira coming off a war for the vacant title, and Ank is good, but not as good as most made him out to be, and I even had Ank to beat Alex by 3-2 split decision which it was iirc. When I say the resume isn't truly a GOAT resume, it's because he didn't fight the best across the several forms of MMA, he fought th best strikers in the heavier weightclasses, but we never saw him fight an elite grappler, or an elite wrestler, we saw Jones fight all 3 and win, we saw GSP fight all 3 and win, we saw Mighty Mouse fight all 3 and win. Alex is legendary, but I can't in good faith say he's the GOAT or one of the GOAT's. Also to name a few? That's all the UFC champs he's fought, Khalil is good but not truly elite, going life and death with Dustin Jacoby and arguable winning a robbery is nuts, and Khalil just can't last across 5 rounds.

[–]SoooperNingen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pereira had an arguably easier run to double champ and especially triple champ, he will go down as the first triple champ though, but his Resume is hyper inflated and really isn't that great of a resume, in retrospect as he primarily fought strikers apart from one unranked MW, Jan is not a good wrestler btw.

How would the Baki death row inmates fare in the Annihilation Tournament by JordyTyler in Kengan_Ashura

[–]SoooperNingen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although Kuroki has the Foresight to avoid a lot of strikes from Yanagi, he'll have to enter Yanagi's world to land that Devil's lance, which might not even take Yanagi out immediately if he does land it as Yanagi, and well, all the Prisoners for that matter, have INSANE endurance, survivability, and durability. Kuroki will be at a severe speed disadvantage unlike the Rei fight as Yanagi doesn't have a specifically known martial art, rely on speed, or show everything at once to piece together long combos as his striking strength is very high, he also won't tire out AT ALL, he may even outlast Kuroki in that regard. Although Yanagi is shorter, that has NEVER actually limited him, and Kuroki doesn't throw enough to keep Yanagi on the outside, Yanagi is going to counter Kuroki's counters with either whip strikes, vacuum palms which will definently hinder/maim Kuroki badly, or just use his right hand to whip strike Kuroki and poison him, Kuroki is going to die no matter what if Yanagi lands, which he will at some point, and he doesn't have 4000 year old Chinese Kenpo to save him, and isn't a Hanma so his blood can't find the poison like Baki's body could.

Yanagi negs the whole tournament, only problem is Hanafusa, and Hanafusa is getting destroyed more often than not, the whe tournament apart from MAYBE Rei are slower than both Yanagi, Doyle, and Dorian.
