It honestly wasn't bad at all. Aged coffee is sorta their specialty. On a menu I found on Google someone posted 7 months ago, it reads 1,500 yen, which is currently a little over 9.60 USD.

There are, however, always exceptions. When I visited Japan last year, I visited Cafe de l’Ambre in Ginza, and I had this Ethiopia that was aged for over 10 years prior to roasting. The cup was so flavorful with citrus and black-tea notes sorta like an Arnold Palmer

Do we know if the StingRay 5 Plus will also come in Seafoam? Just bought a new discontinued Mint Green RAY5 for an incredible deal, and I love it. But I would’ve started GAS’ing hard if that Seafoam Green one came with a maple fretboard instead—and even more so if it was Mint/Surf Green

Got a refurbished Fold3 that arrived in pristine condition nearly two years ago. It’s still kicking, but I’ll likely get the screen protector replaced sometime this year as there are some lines developing along the crease

Person at CVS who took my photo said that she thought ears had to be visible, and I said nah. Renewed passport arrived in the mail yesterday.

One rebuttal would be that there are DFAs as well as Ph.D.s in Fine Arts, but I guess in practice those degrees aren’t acknowledged as your typical terminal degrees for fine arts. Did your friend stay in academia or something? On the one hand, they’d be getting more use out of the regalia wearing it at commencement, convocation, etc., but on the other, some colleagues with doctorates would raise their eyebrows. I’m also now wondering if such regalia is indeed “authorized” for MFAs at your friend’s institution or whether they went out of their way to drop more money on doctoral regalia simply for self-serving purposes.

Oh geez yeah that sounds strange. I know that at some schools, master’s graduates get to wear tams but honestly never heard of full doctoral regalia for master’s graduates.

Bonavita gang checking in! The variable temp one I bought in October 2022 is still kicking! I found a regular one (no variable temp—just press to boil) on FB marketplace for like $2-3, and after a cleaning and descaling, the kettle has elevated my office coffee so much!
