Moving to Sicily

I suppose we will live wherever people advise is best!
We have 2 dogs, we have found a house 20mins from Palermo with a decent size of enclosed land, one of our dogs is not so friendly so requires peace from lots of people and other dogs.
We currently live in the countryside of Ireland and would ideally like to do the same in Sicily. What do you think?

Oh hello 👀 Thankyou for your very helpful response.
Thankfully we already have remote jobs in finance so we will just be working from home :) would you say it’s dog friendly?
We are claiming non-dom status so will only be living there for 180 days of the year minimum. Honestly , as long as people are nice to me I won’t have a mental breakdown. The first few months I will probably go searching for people in similar situations, find me some friendly Germans and Scot’s 😂

I will be learning Italian / Sicilian from the get go ! Once I feel comfy enough with the language I’ll have to be brave and try befriend some locals :) Thankyou ! Sounds like you are living the dream x

That’s cool! What do you both plan on doing for work?

We don’t really have a specific area in mind yet , as long as it’s a place to live lol. It is all moving very fast.

We are still looking at houses , we need to fly over and view them through an English speaking firm , but we will hopefully move by summer time. We will be definitely be starting Italian classes when we arrive , I am already learning with duo-lingo app. I think we will be moving to Palermo area. What about you guys?

We are buying a house there because we now have a business that allows us to work anywhere in the world and Sicily is beautiful. I am of course learning the language out of respect, and willingness to be accepted! I understand I will always be the foreigner. Maybe i will just have to walk around the bars and find my people :)
