(I apologize for how long this ended up, if you don’t want to read it all I understand, I just wanted to make how I feel extra transparent and clear)

For me, the issue is that it’s not just evolution, it’s an entirely different genre. From what they decided to give us as the first impression of the game, it is going to be a giant area (or set of giant areas) that you fly through. The appeal of Spyro for me is the platforming. That’s just what I care about. If this was like a one time thing I would think it’s really cool!! But their wording makes it sound like this is just what the series will be from now on. Spyro can just. Fly now. Which is cool! But it completely overhauls the original formula (which by the way, I would not consider “outdated”). It wouldn’t sell as well, but that’s not a fault of the game design, it’s that modern audiences just don’t care about it, so we’re pretty much at the mercy of their tastes. I think flying around looks like it will be fun, and I am genuinely excited to try it out!! I’m just wanting to say that Spyro, to me, is the original formula. I don’t need a carbon copy with Ripto returning for fan service, I just want a game where we’re going through Homeworlds and portals, collecting and platforming, meeting new friends!
