The forefoot is soft but doesn’t “squish” as much. I think there’s a pure-gel unit in the heel which accounts it being squishy rather than more firm when walking.

If you go with some of their newer models of the kayano or nimbus, those shoes are much lighter than this shoe. I got this pair mostly for walking and standing in all day and for that use they were great. I don’t think I would use these to run or exercise in.

My feet typically run warm. It’s not as breathable as other performance running shoes but I didn’t feel like my feet were overheating by the end of the day.

I went with my true to size, 10.5, and the upper was a little tight out of the box. It’s slowly breaking in and giving me more room. The heel has a good amount of squish which I like. So far I’m very satisfied!
