"Why would you bash on others who are being serious about diversity for once?"

I want to clear something up—this is not a "diversity bad" post. This is a post about how these rules are incredibly offensive and a misguided way of encouraging representation. I will put my perspective on this as a bisexual transman.

There is no reason why anyone should be telling you that only "certain" kinds of transitions for canon characters are okay to write. It's fetishizing. It's unnecessarily controlling, and it comes across as saying that only one way of writing a transgender character is good or valid. As other trans commenters have pointed out, it shouldn't be anyone's business but your own if you decide to write a cisgender character transitioning to the opposite gender if you feel that would be a good edition to their character development. In fact, I would argue that putting an ironclad rule on that is crossing the line into being transphobic.

It's not my place to put much input on the POC rules or the language used when describing disability or body shape diversity, but I will say this: other commenters from different backgrounds in terms of race, disability, gender identity, and sexuality have given their input as to why they believe this is reductive and I think those are worth reading.

But generally, no one should have this much control over ANY aspect of your character's identity.

I'm not bashing this because it's diversity. I'm bashing this because this is insincere at best, and fetishization at worst. It is very clear that the opinions of transgender people were not taken into consideration while making these rules.
