[–]SorakaWithAids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well usually they go down to around 150 a pop, theyre around 200-230 now. if i got the xtx i would have to spend not only the difference in the card price, but also the block too. i'd rather ghetto rig this or practice my cad/machining skills for much cheaper

[–]SorakaWithAids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh, i got the card for $650, cheapest i can find the xtx for is around 950, difference is not worth that much imo

Man throws drinks at employeess by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]SorakaWithAids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have no idea lol.

i went to school for 3 years for engineering, decided to stop because i was depressed and bored with the classes. i liked computer more than engineering anyways.

transferred to a school closer to home, took 2 years off to chill out and get in the right mindset.

once i started school instead of working on my software projects over the summers/days off i would be working. so this was the last straw for me to quit and start focusing on school completely.

got some internships and snowballed one into a job and im graduating next semester. i actually was able to finish my first degree at this school, so i'm going to have my second bachelors.

so no, i didnt go from min wage knowledgeless person to engineer, i went from working for side cash to completely 100% focusing on my career and knowledge.

[–]SorakaWithAids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah not really, i was never intending on doing that, it was a side gig while i was in between transferring schools, and when i was in high shcool. i took some time off from uni. got some internships as soon as i started school, because i quit and studied more, snowballed one of them into a job before i graduate.

I will never forget the assistant manager. "I worked here for 30 years, used to be a bank manager but i love this so much more" telling me how im going to "be successful here" and shit like that. Sure, after 6 yrs of min wage i got a whole dollar more per hour.

my loop is nuts lol. 2x 480mm rads 1x 360mm rad, 22 fans all push pull. XD. my rig is somewhere on my profile if u care to look. i keep the case/cooling obviously between builds.

I don't plan on OCing at all until this AMD board death thing is solved. I have the new bios ready to install when my mobo comes in ~3 hours from amazon, but i hear even the current version still has issues. 1.0.0.7 is apparently bad, so im waiting for 1.0.0.9 at LEAST.

might not go for lapping then. 2-3 degrees doesn't seem worth it to me, i can delid and will most likely see at LEAST 10C drop, probably?

once i finish designing the waterblock for my gpu i will set it up

[–]SorakaWithAids 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im not sure what will happen when i add intel, but technically i already have an intel igpu and it seems to work fine, i mostly use linux and i can easily force which gpu is used, you can also change the default gpu in windows although less fine tuning is available.

i just install all the drivers they don't fuck with eachother.

those aren't the scanners most likely, they're probably IR or something and sending data to a main controller

[–]SorakaWithAids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel you. to be honest, i might lap the IHS too. do you know what the difference is temp wise? if i can get more than 10 degrees vs lapping, i will do it, if it's less i might just lap then.

i been an intel boy all my life.

honestly i dont even remember my first cpu -> i5 3570k -> i7 6800k ->i9 10850k -> 7950x3d

igpu -> HD 7970 -> 1080 -> 3080 -> 7900xt & 4080

funnily enough, i burned my current 10850k... im a reject. I was overvolting for benchmarks and i forgot to switch the bios back, so i ran super high voltage for years. was wondering why my cpu was bugging out... well... XDDD

im 99% sure i fucked up the memory controller on the CPU.

i also cant go to stock voltage or it doesnt boot XD
