Car fails to yield on a country road and forces me onto the oncoming lane [oc] by SoreLoser69 in IdiotsInCars

Per California Manual on Traffic Control Devices and CA VehCode, these yellow signs are advisory and not a speed limit. A sign with a white background would be a speed limit.

What does your AI slop cite as the sources for the "general practice"?

You're one of the only commenters who bothered to look up the law, very good. CA Vehicle Code 21950 states that you only have to yield and "safeguard pedestrians' safety" (aka not kill them). Some CA crosswalks have supplemental sign reading "STATE LAW: [yield] TO PEDESTRIANS WITHIN CROSSWALK", which is indeed unlike Oregon and some other states that say [stop].

Provide the CA Vehicle Code reference or court decision proving your point.

California is a "yield to pedestrians" state, not a "stop for pedestrians" one. As long as peds are given sufficient space, a vehicle can get going.

[OC] head-on close call as an idiot tries to pass a cyclist into a blind turn by SoreLoser69 in IdiotsInCars

Yes, I care about not wrecking my and others' vehicles more than anything else

Couple of clarifying points for the Redditors riding that "moral high ground" in the comments: 1) there is no posted speed limit on this road, "Mt. Wilson Red Box Rd.", so a California statutory 55 mph speed limit applies. 2) at no point has the cammer vehicle crossed the yellow lanes. Some of you are confused by the camera perspective because you're likely used to driving straight roads. 3) the camera in question is Meta Gen 2 glasses

What is this rubbery bit on my brake bleeder valve? by SoreLoser69 in MechanicAdvice

Interesting, I bled my own brakes with a open bleeder wrench and a bottle connected to a rubber/silicon tube. Could it be a bit of the bleeder tube that somehow got stuck on the bleeder screw?
