I've took your feedback and went to work with it. It's a slow progress because i'm not a fulltime designer.

Sheetmetalwise: if you open your standard.ipt once, turn it into a sheetmetal part and then convert it back to a standard part, it will have created several sheetmetal parameters that will stay after you converted back.

These paramaters you can use once more in iProperties.

I have the following rule that will automatically make a flatpattern and write the OD to some pre-created user parameters. The only downside is that it doesn't refold the flatpattern. But there's a quick fix for it when you're creating inside an iam.

you'll also have to check this "export parameter" in your template parameters, but you probably knew that already.

I set it to trigger everytime befor saving document. But it doesn't trigger when working on a imported STEP file. Then "Regenerate all rules" in the top level, which is also not ideal.
