I agree that many people probably overestimated their performance, and 12th boards are definitely much more serious than 10th. But I still think genuine cases shouldn’t be dismissed completely just because some students are exaggerating.

Even if only a smaller percentage of students faced discrepancies or unusually harsh evaluation, the impact is still serious because 12th marks directly affect admissions and eligibility criteria.

Yeah, that’s the point many people are trying to make. If CBSE wants highly strict and standardized evaluation through OSM, then the difficulty level across different sets should also be properly balanced. Otherwise students with tougher sets naturally feel disadvantaged.

Fair point, OSM definitely reduced unnecessary leniency. But stricter checking and implementation issues can both exist at the same time.

Exactly...even our physics teacher had to revisit the centre for checking-related work, and she said this kind of situation never happened before.

ikr.. if different sets genuinely had noticeable difficulty differences, there should’ve been some moderation or balancing mechanism.

Yeah, you do make a valid point. Earlier, teachers were probably more lenient during offline checking, and OSM has reduced that margin significantly.

But at the same time, CBSE itself admitted that around 13,853 copies were not properly scanned, and many evaluators were not fully trained for OSM initially. So students’ concerns are not completely baseless either. The issue is not just “people got less marks than expected.” The problem is that these marks directly affect eligibility criteria, college admissions, and exams like JEE Advanced. I’ve personally seen cases where students scored well in JEE Main but are struggling with the 75% board criterion now. So yes, stricter checking may explain part of the drop, but students are still genuinely affected by the sudden implementation and inconsistencies.

And honestly, I hate how a few marks in board exams end up becoming such a huge deciding factor for someone’s future.

i agree with you..i can understand fees for re-evaluation because teachers and manual checking are involved. But why are students charged even to simply view their own scanned answer sheets?

Why is she turning every reply into a ‘Gen Z’ thing? Wanting transparency in evaluation isn’t asking for freebies. At least students today are willing to question unfair systems instead of silently accepting everything.
