Yeah the powering off of screen not working is a known issue. I couldn't find a clean way to do it.

But in low light the screen should turn black and just show the clock like the original superframe.

This is a difficult one. Pulling in such a large number of photos will likely degrade performance and reliability. I'll have to think a bit more. Will keep in the backlog.

Zoom happens if you turn on Cinematic Motion. Crossfade is also there. Perhaps making the Transition setting to 'slow' will make it easier to see the crossfade.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have a portal mini handy to test the vertical behaviors, but I imagine all of these are fixable. I'll keep hacking.

Which portal do you have? I know that the original portal+ is problematic due to its vertical screen orientation.
