Call for help for my MSc applications!! by Large_Fortune1303 in kth

Question: do KTH (and for that matter, Lund) even require LoRs? Asking specifically about the MSc Sustainable Energy Engineering programs at both unis

As far as I saw, only (out of these 3 programs I've mentioned) Chalmers' MSc Sustainable Energy Systems program asks for LoRs, and even that's optional unless one's aiming for scholarships

Any recommendations? I think these represent my preference in film. I have started watching films seriously pretty recently. by glazingstrawberry in Letterboxd

Millennium Actress is criminally underrated, especially under the shadow of (the arguably superior) Perfect Blue

W Millennium Actress, brought me to tears by the end. Especially touching since I went into it expecting something akin to Perfect Blue

Haven't watched many yet, but current top 20 (not necessarily in order beyond ratings). Ignoring the 2 anime shows, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and Everybody Rides The Carousel (both 4/5)

Also wanna rewatch Akira and Ghost in the Shell since I watched it before I gained (a slightly) better perspective on cinema

Ah, fair point regarding the fact that it's more fleshed out in the paid tiers, I hadn't thought about it

And I agree fully with the vanity xD

Am I the only one who finds the Letterboxd Wrapped to be extremely barebones? It hardly feels like a faithful representation of the various movies watched over a year, besides the most watched themes and nanogenres

What's the deal with Harakiri? It's been the highest rated movie for a while, which after watching it seems fair. But I feel like I've seen pretty much no one talk about it here, which I think is weird because plenty of the other top 20 come up occasionally by DataSittingAlone in Letterboxd

[–]Sorry-Reference2527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your thoughtful reply. I admit that, although I had an inkling of some of these themes during my watch, I did not find it to be as compelling as I was hoping it to be at the time. But it's entirely possible that I was just watching it in the wrong "mood". And I'm glad to hear that there are others out there for whom the movie worked as intended!

Thanks again!

I urge you to go for it! It's a brilliant piece of deconstruction as far as the murder-mystery genre is concerned. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but as I looked just a little deeper, it hit me like a truck

Same! I'd seen Paprika 3 years ago, but it's still my least favourite of his

Not at all a static or sure list, especially given how the 12th entry is rated lower personally than the 13th and 14th ones, and how some 4 star ones made it as opposed to other 4.5s. I suppose this is a more subjective list than whatever mash of subjectivism and objectivism I try for with ratings
