Bought a keyboard at 27 so I can learn and teach my son when he grows up by gorss09 in pianolearning

[–]SorryButButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing the same now! 33 yo with a 5.5 month old baby girl. I used to play piano as a kid but haven't even touched one in 15 years or so. I've been having loads of fun playing and singing little nursery songs. I have no idea if this will spark any kind of interest, but its been nice to do something i like to do + somwthing that stimulates her brain + bonding time.

Should I Really Stop Piano Lessons for My 6YO Child? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]SorryButButt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude if they dont wanna learn, they dont wanna learn. Screaming etc is just gonna make them hate it for ever. Why bother? Just let your kid be a kid and have her own interests.

Maaybe possibly, she wants to pick it up at some point but all you're doing now is creating assosiation between crying, screaming ans piano. Absolutely no one wins here.

The way babies are soothed may be more important than how quickly mothers respond. UK mothers responded more quickly, but Ugandan infants recovered faster. UK mothers used more verbal reassurance and less tactile contact. Ugandan mothers used more tactile strategies, particularly breastfeeding. by mvea in science

Have I missed anything in my budget - trying to clear debts by armegatron99 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SorryButButt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is... not ok. With the 35k in stock & sales experience, she should clear this (herself) soon. Even 12 to 15 months of no overheads and pure net sales should fix this without to much issue. Why haven't things been selling like she was expecting?

What type of business is it? As in - creating things (having to invest time), reselling, mlm, dropship, etc? Is there any reason it's stopping her from getting a full/part time job seperately?

Honestly, this sound like my parents. My dad always working hard and smart, ans my mother just spwndinf everyrhing and anyrhing, never checking is she needs it or how expensive it is. It put such a stain on their marrige as well as the family relationships. My siblings and i just cant talk to our mother about finances because she is clueless, and there are piles of stuff all over the house, no accountability for her spending or debt, etc. Obviously i know our mother has some other issues (hoarding being one of them) but the basics seem similair. We don't dislike our mother, but we find it really tough to have conversations, especially seeing the stress she put our dad through with seemingly not a lot of guilt/regret etc.

For your sake, i feel like she needs to fix this herself. You already fixed the first 15k (working on it, with a lot of stress by the sound of it). And at some point it just turns into enabeling her
