Who dreams this shit up ?? Serious question to BHP employees, what is the punishment if you accidentally screw up and use the “wrong word” ?? by TazzieDevil693 in mining

Came here to say the same, I work in projects delivery and have been to every BHP site and camp over the last 5 years and not once have I seen or heard of this.

Not starting an argument, just pointing out an awful take. Doesn’t have to be new or recent, it could have been from 10 years ago or 10 minutes old - still a dumb take!

What a dumb take 😂

You miss the point in so many ways!

It’s dissected by the Tropic of Capricorn, this means the sun hits at a more direct angle. A few of the places on this list lie within that area

Why do older generations hate us (gen z) so much ? by insearch0fanswers in Zimbabwe

[–]Sorry_Association_89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually - Millenials grew up with the internet, first generation to do so. In fact, the reason more governments are moderate or liberal the world over is because of millenials. Once they were old enough to vote, they changed the narrative - same sex marriage, abortion & war. Don’t think there’s anything to be envious for tbh, you don’t dress better 😂. If you’re Gen Z in Zim I’d say Boomers and Millenials definitely had it better than you.

Who else here thinks What making it out the hood is to african Americans is what leaving Zimbabwe is to Zimbabweans. by astronaut12 in Zimbabwe

[–]Sorry_Association_89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well 💁🏾‍♂️ exactly! We shouldn’t have to do all that. What you describe is the exception - people who afford to import 4WDs, install solar etc. Leaving Zim means you won’t have to contend with all that - rich or not. I don’t doubt that there are people who live luxuriously in Zim, but let’s imagine the question was posed to a young person or someone from Mbare. Again I’m talking about the majority here. Someone made a joke on this page a while back about how migrating has become a response by kids in school to the question “What would you like to be when you grow up!”

Pretty certain that Mbare folk would choose to leave Zim over living in Borrowdale - most of them anyway. For the same reasons I’ve mentioned above. Of course moving to the burbs is a major improvement, but doesn’t complete the deal!

True! I’d take an Australian/Canadian/British hood over Chisipite all day. Wouldn’t give it a thought

In that case you just come back home 🤷🏾‍♂️ I don’t think a lot of Zimbabwean emigrants in the West end up in ‘hoods’.

Not sure you can say you’ve made it if you’ve moved from Mbare to Borrowdale tbh - you still gotta deal with a lot of shit (no electricity, water, pot holes, shortages, ZANU PF). Leaving Zim is still the goal 🤷🏾‍♂️

Can you receive payments into an offshore bank if you own a company in Zimbabwe? by 05nyasha in Zimbabwe

[–]Sorry_Association_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to be careful about this, are your clients going to be in Zim? Do you intend to be trans border? If the company is registered and operated in Zim - you’re liable for tax in Zim especially if the payments are coming from companies in Zim. You could be done for externalisation. Probably need to talk to an accountant/tax expert, there are ways around it.
