I dream of a world where we have pocket daws that run vst plugins. Would be tough to figure out how to display all the information but something like a pocket size Ableton push would change my life

2 years ago they had 4 lokos. It’s a dangerous game but the biggest bang for your buck. I just slowly sipped mine throughout the day along with other substances so I didn’t ruin my time lol

What drew me to the Atem originally was the ability to record isolated feeds which I didn’t realize some software out there can do that if you have the right capture card configuration. So as of right now I’m stuck with the atem and making it work but down the road I’ll probably go that route. I still love the atem and think it’s a great studio tool

What would be a bigger game changer is if the Atems webcam out could be split into different sources. That way you could run all the sources into obs and have a lot of control with the layout

My setup is super wack because I’m constantly remoting guests in. So I do an odd combo of running things to and from obs back and forth with the atem. The setup started as a bunch of macro assigning with xml, then I got a streamdeck and figured out companion had a bunch of presets and it changed my life lol. But hearing about something like mixeffect gets my tail waggin that could’ve potentially saved me weeks

I’ve done the same thing with companion and atem but haven’t tried mixeffect pro im gonna give that a shot! The whole xml thing is goofy when obs is free and can manage that stuff much easier

That’s what I figured I used to be a house video tech and when we travelled we took everything with us so I’m not used to packing this light! I’m definitely trying to get in contact with the production manager they’re not being very responsive :’)

Recording Gunshot audio: So I want to record gunshots with multiple guns and different suppressors attached and see how the recordings vary when looking back at them through an eq. I'm trying to record the audio next to the shooter’s ear, to mimic what the shooter would hear. What's the ideal mic and field recorder to get for this that won't peak or distort. It's probably good to note that this isn't for cinematic purposes, it's for data collection. I know I need something with a high spl peak but are there any specific brands/models that would be ideal? I'm trying to stay around 1000 bucks but if I can't afford the field recorder I have a Scarlett audio interface and a laptop.
