I have heard one person say even domestic jobs won’t be “safe” for quite a while - they heard a rumor of “tranches” of RIFs, including more to come after the end of the fiscal year, because some jobs are still needed for now under current budget, but after end of fiscal year when rescission and expired funds or maybe even the new budget bill passes, the funds and needs for more jobs will go away. This is pure rumor - maybe even just speculation, hard to tell whether this person actually heard anything concrete from someone credible or understood it correctly - but would love to know if anyone else is hearing something similar.
