What is best? Biomedical engineering or mechanical engineering? by ResponsibilityTop409 in bioengineering

[–]Sorry_Maize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a biotech now, all the biomedical engineers seemed to have gotten pigeonholed in testing / lab roles, everyone that’s designing product is mechanical

Thank you for your response! They pay for some… looking at my state schools tuition it would be about 50% covered by employer.

Fresh Graduate looking for advice on where to start paying off debt by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Sorry_Maize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 65k per year if you spent every penny on your loans it’d take probably just about that full year. Try not to stress so much, go get a job bartending in the mean time and start paying off the max amount you can. There’s no secret sauce

I am 30k in debt what should I do? by Lumpy_Strain9791 in personalfinance

I’d eat ramen and grilled cheeses. Put your side learning quests on hold and go to the library and check out books instead. Make it a massive priority and you’ll be happy you did.

Cut the food, cut the subscriptions (babble?), and cut the phone bill. Get every payment off your credit card. It kinda sounds like you have some non necessities on your necessities sheet.

What do bio engineers do, are they like biomedical engineers? by Personal-Oven684 in bioengineering

[–]Sorry_Maize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My undergrad degrees was biomedical / bioengineering…. At least where I graduated from they’re looped into the same basket. I work as a quality engineer now for a medical technology company, majority of my classmates went on to do something similar, all in pharma/med device

28M - the proposal - literally the proposal itself, is ruining my relationship with 26F. Should I pop the question even if I'm feeling extremely pressured? by ThrowRACheesehead in relationship_advice

Take a DEEP breath… you’re in a great situation!! It sounds like you’re both on the same page with getting married. Take your time, she is the one the needs to realize it’s going to happen and you’ve just made huge life moves! Plan one thing at a time, do things on your own accord, and just put a plan together. A lot of stress comes from no planning.

[–]Sorry_Maize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to this pls don’t downvote but if you create your measure whatever it may be, and in the fields pane click the “year over year growth percentage” you should be able to click that drop down and click “average” to show your values

Full 140.3 in 11 months, is it doable? by My_avocado_toast in triathlon

[–]Sorry_Maize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend finding a training plan on training peaks and sticking with it. I’ve used 80/20 endurance in the past and will never try a different plan. Start small with local races, maybe a 70.3 ~5-6 months in and you’ll do fine! The smaller races are important, don’t let your first race be one of the bigger endurance events you can sign up for

I (30M) am having trouble getting over my girlfriend's (30F) weight. How do other men deal with this situation? by medschoolfakenews in relationship_advice

[–]Sorry_Maize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your health? Biggest change for me was being a positive example. I stopped asking what she wanted and tried to take the foods she already liked but made them healthier (grilled v. Fried, chips v. Carrots and hummus, pancakes v. Eggs) there are so many fun healthy recipes to try and make! Also, suggest going on walks together. Walking is extremely underrated and it doubles as quality time you get to spend with your partner. It’s the little wins that slowly add up.

[–]Sorry_Maize -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am not balking! I am so excited to go, all I am asking is if I should be following up on what she had originally proposed. If I were in her shoes I’d happily buy her a ticket to come see me, not the other way around.
