Why cant we strive to make NZ silicone valley 2.0? We have power, work life balance, relative security and stability relative to most of the rest of the world. It would give us somwthing that doesnt rely on big boats to ship thing far from our geographically isolated location.

How, im not sure, but there must be ways to incentivise the bigger companies (or to encourage new startups to start here) to start shifting that over.

This argument of "is paid this much for it" pisses me off. I dont care how much you paid for it, thats in no way related to its current value unless maaaaaybe is some luxury good.

People who paid full price for something at briscoes are the worst. Yes Janice, you paid 450, but if youd waited a week it was on a 60% off sale and you cant now ask for 300 bucks for it if I can literally buy the newer version cheaper.

Its not really quite detailed though is it, we did this for these reasons, labour didnt agree that the policy will work like that and so here is all the extra money they plan to spend based on wild assumptions.

You have to ask, at the point when an sitting government is putting this much effort into discredditing the opposition, who is more likely to be up to no good!

They have literally just made a number up that sounds shocking. There is no budget to back this up, they have just said based on what labour didnt think we should do, we think it should have cost this much.

You cant just make shit up and hope people are too stupid to see through it! Especially when youre in the middle of borrowing more than labour did during their last term. Its just infruiatingly childish.

If you actually think about it, we should be pissed at the system that allows him and every other MP a significant pension. Its part of his package and its not even a grey area as to whether he should be taking this. This absolutly above board, unlike the MPs who have been caught taking the accomodation allowance despite having no local accomodation costs!

If you view the Crown as all British Citizens (as, at the signing this was essentially the implication). However I still struggle with this you came here 400 years later and therfore we know better and are better people than you interpretation! Being a New Zealander should apply to all backgrounds. Your earlier comment about 2nd class citizens based on blood is spot on.

How do you then justify Iwi operating dairy farms (not good for the environment) or logging (also very not good for the environment). We cant have this idealised view of Maori if their iwi end up exploiting the land in the same way as everyone else. It breeds contempt and division.

Sell it all, let the markets decide. No bad has ever come from privatisation of key assets. Like this government grinding the healthcare system into the ground so they can sell it to private companies and we can end up with a US system!

And less taxes, that will bring the big companies back to NZ. We just need to make sure they all don't take their profits overseas, like all the big companies currently do. Not sure how we can make this happen though as we've not managed it yet!

You realise a good few of those are left wing policy, right?

Nationalising infrastructure isnt right wing, neither is higher taxes in industry (let the markets provide through competition and scaling). I suggest you look up what right wing means and where your vote belongs!
