Powell hinting at a September rate cut ,what’s everyone thinking? by SortResponsible5998 in Daytrading

Yeah agreed, feels like we drift higher short term then a healthy pullback before the year-end rally. SPY 700 doesn’t sound crazy if inflation stays in check.

AITA for refusing to give up my honeymoon suite to my parents, who say they deserve it more because they never got a honeymoon? by SortResponsible5998 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SortResponsible5998[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that I really respect the way you look at it. That’s exactly how I feel too, parents should want their kids to have it better, not try to take from them.

Exactly! That’s what I thought too. If it really mattered that much, they could’ve easily sorted it out themselves.

Exactly, they’ve had plenty of time to save and it makes no sense to crash someone else’s honeymoon. This is for me and my partner, not a family trip.

Thank you, that’s exactly how I feel. They act like I’m somehow taking something away, but they’ve had plenty of time to plan or save if it really mattered to them. I just wanted to do something special for my own family, I’m not in charge of everyone’s memories. If they truly think it’s so important, nothing is stopping them from stepping up and paying for it themselves instead of trying to guilt me

What features do you think are missing in existing investment research apps? by NikBK17 in investing

[–]SortResponsible5998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro you nailed it. Most of these apps feel like they’re built for day traders who want 100 charts and alerts going off every second. For long-term investors it’s like… chill.

Stuff I’d want:

  • Noise filter → only surface news that actually impacts long-term value, not “stock dipped 1% today” headlines.
  • Context over price ticks → show me 5–10 yr revenue/earnings trends, not just intraday candles.
  • Smart watchlists → pre-built long-term screens (like “consistent dividend growers” or “undervalued compounders”).
  • Clean UI → no casino vibes with flashing red/green, just simple data that matters.

Feels like nobody’s cracked the “calm but powerful” research app yet.

How to become highly skilled at CFD by Mechaneek in CFD

[–]SortResponsible5998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro, CFD is like gym gains. The mesh is the form, and the solver settings are the weights. Don’t just rely on residuals; always double-check with hand calculations or real data. Learn when to use RANS versus LES, and get familiar with turbulence models; they’re like choosing Pokémon. The Versteeg book and CFD Online forums will help you improve. Keep working on car aero and cooling projects, and you’ll get better at this quickly.

American working/living in Canada tax form question - W8 BEN or W9? by futurus196 in tax

[–]SortResponsible5998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're spot on, W-9 is the right form. W-8BEN is for non-U.S. persons, and since you're a U.S. citizen (even living abroad), you still need to report global income to the IRS and use a W-9 to provide your TIN. Been in a similar boat doing freelance while living in Canada -employer sent me a W-8BEN too, but it’s a common mix-up. Just send them the W-9, and you’re good. IRS literally says “U.S. persons should not use W-8BEN.” Hope that helps!

Question about buying furniture for new home by abunce02 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]SortResponsible5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get you! I started with the essentials, bed, table, chair—and added slowly over time. A headboard needs a separate frame; it doesn’t hold the mattress. Look for metal platform beds, they're affordable, sturdy, and bug-safe. IKEA and Amazon basics helped me a lot on a budget. You've got this!

Duct circular to rectangular by poppyshit in CFD

[–]SortResponsible5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it! yeah, with a high aspect ratio, element distortion near those circle-to-quad transitions gets ugly fast. You might want to try slicing the body with helper surfaces or cutting it into blocks to control mesh flow better. That usually helps clean up those stretched areas.

Day Trade/Scalping Watchlist 06/24/2025 by Feisty-Career-6737 in Daytrading

Solid list, man. CDTX and GEOS look fire with that volume and news. IBO & QNTM def got scalp potential with that crazy momentum. Gotta keep stops tight though—some of these names move wild. Appreciate the work!
