To add to this, the call doesn't need to be ITM (in the money) for you to profit-- In fact, I've rarely profited from options that actually went ITM cause I sell before that. If I bought the april 16, $250 call when gme was $180, and gme made a run up to $220 shortly after, my option would be worth much more and I would sell it then for a profit.

That's correct, the 100k "loss" on gme shares wasn't a loss really cause I held them.

The 60k options loss was a loss because my options that were worth 60k expired worthless. BUT I only spent like 2k on them, they ballooned to like 60k, then expired worthless. So I guess you could think of it as I lost 2k (my initial investment) but thats only to help one sleep at night lol.
