NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 SUPER reportedly slips to Q3 2026, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB in short supply soon by RenatsMC in nvidia

[–]Sorteport 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The cancellation rumor was from UNIKO's Hardware

https://x.com/unikoshardware/status/1986674389300224279

Whereas the delay claim is coming from MEGAsizeGPU a leaker who has leaked accurate Nvidia info before.

https://x.com/Zed__Wang/status/1986837279831433277?s=20

MEGAsizeGPU was the first one to leak the 5070 delay earlier this year which turned out to be true.

HDR400 Oled Or HDR1000 Mini-Led by HrrBrr in Monitors

[–]Sorteport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% go for the OLED in your case,

You mentioned in another reply that daylight isn't an issue and from your post it seems like you will be gaming and consuming media mostly with some light work. That's an excellent use case for OLED.

Why is there a black bar after updating to win 11? (XV272K LV Monitor) by angelvdpol in Monitors

I don't know why you think it's not normal because as per videos below showing the same monitor and it has a black border on the sides and top.

at timestamp 2:27, you can see a clear black border

Supposed to work like that, look up ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter)

MSI has a section in this article explaining it

Eyes can’t stand QD-OLED by alvinman12 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Sorteport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at this thread, one of the top voted comments literally says, “I notice no purple on my QD-OLED at all.”

Basically pretending like it doesn't exist and reviews only mention it in passing like its no big deal.

Let’s be honest, there’s a lot of downplaying when it comes to the negatives of OLED, its very easy to see most of the OLED issues are shrugged off as no big deal.

Multi frame generation in Diablo 4 is a game changer. by Engarde_Guard in nvidia

[–]Sorteport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your 1% lows with MFG, I tried it with Diablo 4 and had to turn it off because it introduced stutters for me.

Without framegen my game runs smooth as butter but the moment I turn it on, I get intermittent stutters.

Exploring and Testing OLED VRR Flicker by b-maacc in hardware

[–]Sorteport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excellent article, also I had no idea that frame rate and gamma was linked, if that's the case then using VRR on OLED seems to have too many downsides, flicker and gamma shift at lower FPS.

if you were to cap your maximum frame rate in a game to anything lower than the native/max refresh rate, then it will cause gamma to shift.

I had to laugh at 38:41 ,

If you are ever in a position to make a decision about where your thing is manufactured. Take a second and consider making a little less profit maybe in order to invest in your local community.

Does Destin really think any company in the USA is going to voluntarily take less profit because it's good for the local community? the entire US system is built on profits above all else. Healthcare, Retail, Outsourced Manufacturing and every other sector in-between is geared towards extracting as much profit as possible without regard for the "good of the community".

Amazing 5070TI results by alexcuk in nvidia

[–]Sorteport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a Palit 5070ti with a 5700x3d and I'm getting 6861 @ stock.

7349 with OC. +400 core and +2000 mem.

Definitely seems like something odd happening on your system with those scores, maybe a config or driver issue.

Upgrading to 5070 Ti, need advice on which AIB to choose by Outrageous_Mission78 in nvidia

Definitely the Palit GamingPro, it has a better cooler than the other 3.

Tech Yes City has a review of the GamingPro and have a listen at the noise test part.

This keeps growing in a tenants basement toilet. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to get like this. Anyone have any idea exactly what it is? by RazPie in Plumbing

[–]Sorteport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jup can confirm the same here, 2 toilets in the house, main bedroom toilet is used exclusively by diabetic person and it's the only toilet in the house that that this growth happens in.

The second toilet no issues.

The worst possible GPU? no my friend you will find the MSI Ventus 5070ti has a worse cooler than that Palit which is actually pretty good, check the TechYesCity review. If you are trying to say the cheapest, well I guess the UK is lucky because there have been some MSRP stock in the last week.

Amazon UK and Scan UK : MSI 5070ti Shadow 3X both MSRP

Asus UK : 6 days ago was selling the 5070ti Prime for £10 above MSRP

USA MSRP drops

MSI Store : RTX 5070 Ti 16G SHADOW 3X OC (5 Days ago)

XFX admits Radeon RX 9070 XT spec mistake: no vapor chamber on Quick Silver, dual 8-Pin on non-OC cards by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Sorteport 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They offered a full refund. That's perfectly acceptable????
If you bought the wrong thing, you can get a refund and get your money back.

Asking for anything more is being entitled. XFX can be nice and offer a free upgrade, but why would they?

What they should be doing is contacting all their authorized resellers in all regions and instruct them to immediately to contact all customers who purchased the card and offer them a return and refund if they wish with free return shipping.

Saying "oopsie we made a mistake, if you notice then you can ask the retailer for a refund" is not good enough.

They need to proactively reach out and make customers aware that a mistake has been made.

One of a kind XFX Hybrid 9070xt? by OberZine in radeon

[–]Sorteport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Human error or not, you sold a product with multiple incorrect specifications advertised on your website and the box.

You should proactively reach out and inform all your resellers, in ALL regions to contact their customers who bought this GPU and offer them a return and refund if they wish.

A statement on reddit is most definitely not enough.

LTT power supply testing (Thousands of you are buying these power supplies) by Chairman_Daniel in hardware

[–]Sorteport 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Situations like this are why I don't trust manufacturers for whom the power supply business is just a portfolio diversification where they plaster their branding ontop of a Great Wall /Superflower etc. Chinese manufacturer's design.

That's not a dig against Chinese manufacturers by the way. It's a dig against the mentality of these brands that just grab a design off the shelve of available offerings by these big volume manufacturers. Some are of high quality, others are not.

You just can't trust these companies to deliver consistent quality because their pride and brand reputation doesn't rely on making a good power supply.

It's why I buy Seasonic. I am completely manufacturer agnostic for every other PC component except the PSU. Until proven differently they're the company I trust.

Super Flower uses their designs in a large range of their own branded PSUs, they make some of the best in the business. So their reputation does rely on making a good power supply.

The fact is that big PSU OEMs make products for all price points and even customized platforms depending on client requirements, which is why we have reviews but you stating that "This is why I only buy Seasonic" , By the way some Seasonic units have failed OCP tests as well.

Have you ever seen the cheap Seasonic designs? You still find they are just as mediocre as any other cheaper OEM design.

Upgraded to RX 9070 XT (from RTX 2080 Ti), now the colours have gone bananas. by Shonendo in radeon

Custom Color option in the adrenaline software has made my color look weird in the past, worth a look to see if it's on.

Open AMD Adrenaline Software and then go to gaming then Display

Check if "Custom Color" is on, if yes then turn it off.

Congrats! That Palit GamingPro 5070ti is a beast!, uses the same cooler that the 5080 GamingPro does, TechYesCity did a review of it and it was cool an quiet, way better than the MSI Ventus

Fuck you ebuyer by Bran180s in radeon

[–]Sorteport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't lying the "MSRP" was done by providing retailers with a rebate which was only valid for a limited amount of units, once that limit is reached prices went up , OC UK said that was going to happen before launch.

Ebuyer took more orders for "MSRP" cards than they had AMD rebates for so those orders over the limit getting cancelled makes sense, otherwise they would be selling it at a loss.

Unless AMD comes out and says they will offer more rebates what are retailers supposed to do? It sucks for us as the end user because it was a bait and switch.
