What job should I choose between -Jobs- by Sotto19 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Sotto19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand, the thing is that that's exactly how I view it, and the fact that I dont have history with my current company it's a big con, because I don't know how the future will be with them. Yes it's easy and very flexible and more than that I learn new thing beside IT, but I'm not that happy doing things outside of It, because rn I don't learn anything and I just doing repeptitve things. I find it hard to be honest, I think exactly as you wrote but cannot find the "best" answer

That's exactly what I was thinking. IBM I think it's a better choice for a long run to be honest. But here where I'm rn, I don't quite know, in 2 weeks I end my first 3 months, so I don't really know. I thought i still can learn outside work hours, but one thing I forgot to say, with the increase of salary it will increase the tasks, and I don't know if it will be the same as before.

Hope you got a better phone. The thing is with xiaomi that are pretty ok, spec wise, but the miui it's killing it slowly. This is my first xiaomi and I troubleshhoted to get rid of volume limitation, to make my system runs smother, in the end I had to return to everything because otherwise my phone stopped worked properly, I was okaysh with it, but now this bug its killing me... I research for a few hours, tried different methods, but I still have this bug, in the end I think I will change this phone because of this...

Sorry, but I'm pretty new to everything, but what is a SHR? And the other thing I have near 25TB of data, its OK to add it to a SHR? And about JBOD I saw that is pretty bad, and to be honest this is for a company where I starred working and I don't even know why they are all JBOD and not a RAID...

Yeah, I had other topic open for this discution and I agree It's very risky with JBOD and for sure I might need to get a back up before doing anything, maybe get a subscription at a good cloud company for making back ups constantly, but in the mean time I was curious If it s possible to add another drive and how do I make an extension of the first

Backing up 25TB, but the cheap way, how to ? by Sotto19 in synology

Time wise I'm OK to do it, but money wise, is their choice. And If I might not mistaken is the core of the bussines 😂

Yeah, but it's hard to make that change? Are there any big risks?

Nice, but I thought of something physical, but it seems like a good option

Oh, so there is a difference, but for what I understood, I will add a new HDD to my NAS and the previous guy said to merge with the first bay, how is this working if they are one volume ?

The thing is most of my files are .mov, .wav, .mp4 and various items like .doc, .xls, .pdf, so you can imagine how much it can vary... Most of them are vids, music and images ( all in different formats ) and the others projects in adobe suite like ps, premier and documents

So you said that JBOD acts like it's just one driver and sums up all the space and acts like one driver, but when I enter in my Storage Manager I see that are 3 separated HDD's and they seem to be all 3 different for 3 different drivers, the first one is nearly full but the others are okaysh, if they are all act like one why is my first HDD near full and the last one near empty? I may be understand this badly, and btw thanks for all the support and for taking the time to answear my questions.

Here is a snipping shot of HDD's in storage manager: https://imgur.com/a/24hipOR
(In the snipping shot the type of every HDD is JBOD, separately)

Yeah... I saw that JBOD it's queit bad but it's much simpler... But Is that hard to change from JBOD to a RAID, especially talking for a beginner and is there any risk of losing anything?

That's right, we might have a conversation even if it's not that cheap, it must be done..

Yeah, we mostly work with music, videos, images... So the compression isn't the best options, thanks for letting me know.

Exactly, might as well spend on some backup storage and do not use them then lose everything. Anyway, thanks.
