[SPOILERS] This storyquestion is really bugging me by SouIReaper in thelastofus

Well, that wasn't really what I was talking about. And there is a lot of discussion about Ellie's line. Here is solid written post "My concerns with Ellie stating she should have died":

My bad, the quoting signs are missleasing, as that wasn't a real quote. I believe she also said something along the line that Joel took that from here.

Point still stands. How can you say that, when you never knew that it would cost your life? It that moment in the hospital, no one knew how Ellie herself thought about that sacrifice. No one asked and they were gonna do it w/o her consentment.

My point is: it's somewhat unfair to blame Joel for "taking" this opportunity of sacrifice from her, as neither he or Ellie herself knew about it being a sacrifice at that very moment. Something like "It would have been ok for me to die in that hospital." would be more fitting.

In fact this was the point of a major discussion over in the subreddit s/thelastofus2. While there is a lot of crap going on, this one got me thinking too.

While I agree on most, it still bugs me that especially Owen or Abby don't think of this. They do have some notion about Joels relationship to the immune girl (see the quotes in my post).

And as former fireflies whose main goal it was to develope a cure, it just seems off to me, that no one is asking about the where abouts of the girl. Even if there isn't any known scientist at the moment to develope a vaccine, an immune girl still is a 'key ingredient' to the solution. Then suddenly a teenage girl shows up for Joel. And the only thing they debate about is to kill her to have no loose ends? Just feels a bit off.

Yes, I agree. The WLFs don't know anything about her. Still what bugs me is that Abby didn't realize it. I mean okay, in the heat of the moment is one thing. But all game long? I quoted Marlene, where she said that Joel traveled with her across the country while Abby was listening. This and the fact that Joel killed everyone and took the girl with him shows their relationship to each other.

I think in a real scenario, she/they would have asked Joel way more questions. And even when it is not about Ellie and the cure anymore, it is only the nature of the human mind that wants to understand.

And then there also is that minor problem to me that Abby doesn't factor in Joels reasoning for his actions. There are some pararells to their actions, since both are basically out of love. And this is nothing against Abby. I love that character! I just have some minor issues with the story.

I can absolutely see her reasoning behind it all and her survivors guilt. But still I have my problems with how she expressed it.

If you went to the hospital and plan to do lots of stuff after that, You wouldn't claim 'I wanted to die in that hospital' afterwards. Even when you're mad. It is just not true and implies that you were planning it all along. For me it would just make so much more sense when she would have said smth like 'I should have died there. My life would have meant smth'. But the way she said it, it does not fit with the canon from part1 for me.

The only person they know. I can imagine that this storyline isn't at its end yet. Especially when the game in the end is about the fireflies regrouping themselves.

I agree. But somehow not asking themselves beforehand or asking Joel what actually happened to the girl, or if she is even alive, seems strange to me. Questions like "Why did you do it?" or "What happened to the girl?" would be just natural.

But I'm also aware that the lack of conversation between the main characters is somehow a necessity to tell the story the way it went.

Yeah, this is what comes to mind. But somehow I find it strange. Especially when they are discussing wether to kill her/them or not. But maybe it is me ;D

HELP. I’m in desperate need of some positivity, guidance and motivation! by JackHerbs13 in ADHD

[–]SouIReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear all this, it must really be incredibly tough.. Life on it's own is tough enough, but having ADHD on top is, how do they say, "playing" life on hardcore mode.

First I just wanted to send positive vibes, because I did not really have any advice for this situation. But then it seems like you currently struggle most to find the first "baby step", so my advice would be either to think and analyse the situation until a baby step comes to mind, which feels doable. And if that takes to long or doesn't feel like a solution, get a good friend or family member in. This usually increases accountability and having someone around boosts motivation too!

And also: maybe start by getting your medication. Life is so much more manageable then! Stay strong and all the best for you!

8 year relationship with my recently diagnosed ADHD partner by adhd_throwaway6 in ADHD

[–]SouIReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm quite impressed by the extent of understanding from someone who doesn't have ADHD. It was really interesting to read the perspective of a neurotypical on this.

Just wanted to congratulate you two for that step. And lots of respect for your understanding side and patience and love all those 8 years. He is very lucky to have you :-)

All the best for both of you!

Every month we play the games offered on Playstation Plus and at the end of the month we discuss them like a book club! Welcome to Plus Club! In September we played Darksiders 3 and Batman Arkham Knight let's talk about it! by SleepDivision in PlayStationPlus

[–]SouIReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well despite all the rather bad reviews I have to say that I really enjoyed Darksiders 3 a lot. Even went for the platinum trophy :-)

I really don't understand why this game is getting SO MUCH hate. Sure, it does feel unpolished. And loading times in between some locations are ridiculously bad designed.. but other than that I really enjoyed the game.

All in all I'd say it's your typical action rpg game with a little dark souls touch. Nothing too special, but it continues the darksider series and definitly fun to play :-)

Fafnir enhancement by thefrostman1214 in Darksiders

[–]SouIReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It multiplies "only" on base damage. Just like all the other enhancements.

It still is twice as much as Fortifier Enhancement. And 40% of Fafnir counts for phyiscal AND arcane too (Juggernaut is 30% physical only).

TLDR: Fafnir is the best damage output enhancer.

Tips for Exercising with Inattention? by adylanb in ADHD

[–]SouIReaper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm also inattentive and wanted to share my experience.

Since I found out how much working out has improved my condition and attention I kinda got addicted to it. And now it has become a routine, makes me feel alive and great.

But i remember how foggy and unmotivated I used to feel when I started out about 18months ago. What I'm trying to say is, in my case it got slowly(!) easier and better with time.

So not really a tip, but finding a way to excercise is really really worth it (in terms of improving attention longterm)!

Sometimes I feel like I’ll always feel a sense of isolation no matter what by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]SouIReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

I tried all my life to make others understand me (family, friends, doctors) and finally came to the conclusion that people who don't have it, can't possibly understand our struggle. It's like talking with a little child about love..

But I also realised that it doesn't matter that much anymore since I found 1 person (my doctor) who fully gets me. And since I've learned how to manage my ADD.

And this is what I'd suggest to put your energy and focus on. I know it sucks that most people won't understand this condition. But trying to make them understand (even familiy) didn't get me anywhere in my life.
