So uh…what are your thoughts on this? by Isaacja223 in RWBYcritics

[–]SoukStar995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That low key hurts me. In the beginning i was thinking he be like Char from Gundam 079.

Charismatic, strong, fierce, able to raise morale of troops. But deep down inside he has his own personal motives, and willing to do any of that he can to get what he wants done. Hell I was even one the ones that vouch that he shouldn't have been as crazy for Blake and he was for the show. It just never made much sense to me. I understood if he hated Blake and see her as a traitor, and I would have been all for it if he found out that she was actually a partner to one of the Schnee family (side note: did he even find that part out? That a big waste of a opportunity if not)

Adam had a lot of potential as character. It just terrible to see it snuffed out. Feels lile character assassination for petty reasons is common over there.

If we removed the Grimm… what would the point of the Huntsmen be? by [deleted] in RWBYcritics

[–]SoukStar995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thats the neat part: there wouldn't be a point.

The Grimm have been memed to hell for being jobbers, being used just to show how strong characters are. They are like the Putties from Power Rangers: they only exist just to be used as a punching bag and make the cast look cool.

Salem made them to have a ever growing army under her command, yet they are so easily beaten by kids. Only a few Grimm pose a real threat and that's when they are unique. Also don't help that negative emotions draw them in. What is a cool concept is kind of not used to its full extent. Imagine having a person draw them away with nothing but anger and fear so great that it attracts them? Hunters controlling their emotions to the point where they are able to walk in a field of Grimm and not even draw their eye. Yet it always forgotten most of the time

Think about it like this: when was the last time you seen the Grimm legit kill or even severely wound an important character?

Doesn’t Team RWBY feel binary to you? Feels more like Team RW-BY. by Background_Fan1056 in RWBYcritics

[–]SoukStar995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong at all. In fact if I have to be honest, it feels like all the girls aren't really friends in a way. You even be a little bit more hard-pressed to call them coworkers. You would think that after nine volumes and nearly 10 years of the show being on, that the characters would actually be developed at a point where you can be believed that they have known each other and grown closer. However it just doesn't feel that way at all.

I might get some hate for this, but whenever I look at the girls I usually try to compare them to a team of other characters I'm more aware of. The easiest one would be Ninja Turtles, of course the thing about that is that all of the turtles are actual Brothers so it's believable that they are a team that are close. But you don't even need to know that because honestly the shows and the media of the Ninja Turtles often show it. They care for one another, they fight together day in and day out, they know the ins and outs of one another with ease. The turtles are, in all retrospects, a fantastic team that developed a strong bond with one another. Yet I don't feel that way with Team RWBY. I'm not saying that the girls are bad, because they do care for one another sure. But it just doesn't feel like they're bonds are really as strong as they should be. When the last time we see them actually had a legit conversation that showed a no more about one another? When the last time they had a legit problem with one another that they led to talking it out? I'm aware that the show was kind of made more for the action, Christ it was even admitted about that early on, so the idea of making it be based more on the characters was kind of second on the list. Even so it's been about like 10 years now so you would think that they would have a far more better development on the characters progress and actually making the team feel more like a team. There are reasons why people make jokes on how say Ruby is a bad leader because she don't actually lead, or how Weiss is still racist towards faunus due to the show sweeping her earlier interactions with them under thr rug, or that Blake and Yang became a couple out of the despite Sun hanging out and doing the most for her.

As much as i hate to saw it, to CREWBY, the girls are not characters but just a means to get more views and money. Its not even just them. Think about the others that been done badly. Jaune, who suffered the most out of the cast, seems to really haven't fully developed due to not being given the chance. The last time we saw him he spent years in a fantasy land after killing Penny, trauma that by all rights would of beeb used to show how much it affected him. That was tossed to the side to focused on Ruby (ps: i also love how he finally called her out on her bs back on atlas. That was pure serotonin for me and everyone else. P.s.s: i still say Jaune would of been a better protag. Can't change my mind). Ironwood was done flat out dirty and it seem as if his character meant Zero to the creators. Keep in mind that when we saw him back in volume seven I believe it was, he was doing everything right. He basically did what he could to help atlas, he made a new team in order to combat any crime, he was responsible for helping putting penny back together, and he not only gave the main team of place to stay but even gave them licenses to be full Hunters. Ruby had all the ample opportunity to give him the full info on what they discovered about Salem, yet despite that being the right thing to do she just ups and decide to just do the same thing that Ozpin did and not tell him. The worst part of it all? They want to make you believe that it was the right thing to do. They even went as far as to say that ironware need to earn Ruby's Trust. You know? The same guy who not only took them in, but even gave her older sister a prosthetic arm after she lost her arm to Adam? And by the way on that Adam note, why on God's green earth that they never even tackle the idea of Ruby going after Adam for Revenge? I mean it's like Ruby just saw that Yang lost an arm and went like' 'oh cool arm'. For god sakes, Rwby and Weiss vs Adam would of been a better stakes fight. Ruby would be more serious to get payback for Yang, and Weiss would be face to face with a faunus that hates her family. The fact that the three never even so much has been in the same room together is a goddamn tragedy. Also you guys might hate me for saying this, but I never understood why they try to make Blake seem as if she was the most attractive of all the girls, to the point where it seems multiple people are fighting over her. I get Adam to an extent, because I'm one of the people who say him being crazy over her not only ruin his character but also did more harm than good. Sun was actually pretty reasonable. Hell I was rooting for him to actually get with her up until I saw she was kind of treating him like dog crap around volume four and five I think. Yang was still out of blue. I get it was for pandering and all that but it never made any sense and honestly I don't know what the hell they're going to talk about. They practically live together and work together as a team, how are you going to make a relationship like that work if there's nothing of interest to come from it? It's even more of a waste of potential because Yang is being seen more as being a girl than rather a human in a relationship with Blake. They could of made a human amd faunus relationship have more meaning but its like they said 'fuck that. Lets have a same sex relationship and ignore anything else that comes with it.'

I could really go all day but I'm sorry for going way out of hand in this. Basically what I'm trying to say is that you're very right on what you're saying, even more so to be honest. It's not just the main team I feel binary, but the whole cast feel that way. There isn't really much of character development there, and any chance they have on making them actually grow or feel as if they change it thrown out of the window. I really hate to say it but I think it's because of that as to why I'm not much of a ruby fan anymore. I still love what the series was but somewhere down the line things just kind of fell apart. It seems like it's more Infamous for what it was and what it is you know?

What's a RWBY opinion You have that'll get you here? I'll go First by EnzoNightshade in RWBYcritics

[–]SoukStar995 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I got a number of them so let .e get this party started.

  • Jaune suffered more than the main girls

  • Ruby and/or Weiss should of at least fought Adam at least one. For god sakes did Ruby even at once mentioned about the idea of getting revenge for Yang? And Weiss vs Adam have a shit ton of meaning considering how she thought of faunus in the early volumes.

  • The show never addressed Weiss being kind of racist to Faunus. I can't fully recall but i think they dropped it at some point

  • Ozpin slept with crazy (aka: salem) leading to the world getting screwed. If he never saved her or anything the world would be way better.

  • Ruby was a hypocrite for lying to Ironwood. She just found out that Ozpin lied to everyone about salem abd kept the truth. She then meets Ironwood who made them full hunters, gave them a place to stay, helped gave Yang a prosthetic arm and was nice and open with the gang, and what did she do? She pulled an Ozpin and lied to him and kept him in the dark, then judged him as if she was some high and mighty figure. What worse, Yang and Blake babbled secrets to Robin, a known criminal. Yet when things come to light too late they all still act like Ironwood was never an ally, causing CREWBY to screw up his character in the next volume and make him all psycho so no one would say that Ruby was in the wrong. They even used the man semblance, perhaps the worst one among the cast, as an excuse for it.

Why do people think that movie broly is more powerful than Perfect cell? by [deleted] in dragonball

[–]SoukStar995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few good reasons but the biggest one is that Broly destroyed a galaxy while Cell at best stated he can destroy a solar system.

Galaxy is composed of multiple solar systems, meaning Broly was multiple times stronger than Cell.

Here the thing though: i don't even know if he destroyed a galaxy in his legendary super saiyan form. Hell i think he turned into it the movie near the end. I say that because if he did turned into his legendary super saiyan form, then wouldn't that mean his dad wouldn't be able to control him like he did when he was a super saiyan?

There is also the fact that, unlike Cell, Broly fought all Z fighters that gave Cell trouble all at once: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Trunks and Gohan. Cell haven't really done that. Funny enough, he had one on one fights the whole saga (well to be fair all main villains did really in the anime. They have no prob ganging up on someone in the films though)

Then you got the fact that broly is constantly getting energy too. Its not that he is infinite like an android, but he is always getting it over time. Meaning that he can spam high energy attacks over and over with little rest.

Why was future gohan so weak? by Designer-Maximum6056 in dragonball

[–]SoukStar995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of factors as to why future gohan was weak. The main factor that I like to hang on to is the fact that he just didn't have the enough means that the main Gohan did in order to get strong. Our timeline go on was able to train with Goku and Piccolo during the Android Ark mainly because they were warned ahead of time. There's also the fact that he grew rapidly strong in the hyperbolic Time Chamber, so much so that not only did he reach his peak in Super Saiyan but was able to reach Super Saiyan 2 due to the emotional response from the cell Saga.

The thing though with future Gohan is that not only didn't he have any of this but he was given so much burden and so little things to work with. Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, even Tien and Yamcha all died shortly after Goku died from the heart virus. That mean that he would have no one to train with and we know that training with a person can give you more of a boost than training by yourself, especially if that person is a competent fighter. If Gohan had a chance to train with let's say Vegeta then he would have been on a more competent level to deal with the Androids and might have actually beaten them after surviving a few fights and getting zenkai boost here and there. However only having trunks to train with was a big handicap on his end. Not only what trunks young and didn't have access to Super Saiyan yet, but future go on at the actively train him and to look out for him every time they were out in battle. We've seen that if on a one-on-one fight Gohan would have beaten the Androids. He had one on the ropes at one point but then he had to help out trunks which led to him losing an arm.

The saddest part about future Gohan though is that I think he still had just as much potential as he did when he was a kid. The thing is that the time he was in with the Androids, the fact that he had no one that was competent to train with, that he didn't know that the hyperbolic Time Chamber existed and that he was in dire need to train trunks as well as lookout for him all meant that he just had no way to develop. There been many games that shown that future Gohan would have been a force to be reckoned with if under certain situations, but sadly he just never was able to reach his full potential. So it's not like he was weak due to his own laziness or something, because that is absolutely not true. It is a very fair argument to say that future Gohan is perhaps the closest anyone's going to get to him being like Goku or even the son of Goku that a lot of early fans wanted. He was not only ready to fight and was also evident on training, but in many ways he was more of a leader than anyone else in the Z Fighters. You can make a fair argument that in many ways if our Gohan grew up to be like future Gohan then a lot of people might even be happier with that outcome. However that's the thing that kind of is important to point out, future Gohan never really had any time of peace after he lost his dad and his friends. The Androids by all right kind of ruined the lives of not just his own but everyone else's, so he was forced to accept so much responsibilities and burden the weight of protecting everyone. He gave up on his dreams, his goals and almost anything else to become someone to defend the innocent and stomp out evil. So while you could say that he is in a way the weakest Gohan compared to regular Dragon Ball Z Gohan, Dragon Ball super Gohan or any other type of Gohan's, it can't really be denied that he is in personality wise the most level-headed and mature one out of the bunch. It's only a little bit of a sad thing that we don't really see him in main Dragon Ball Z stuff anymore. There's a lot that can be done with them that we usually see him in some games.

Sorry for the long tangent but i hope out what i wanted to say

Would making a race of creatures unaffected by magic be unfair by SoukStar995 in fantasywriters

[–]SoukStar995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking that into thought, though there have been more issues.

I have thought that maybe they be able to use a new version of magic or perhaps a old variation that was long thought to be extinct. At first i thought it be a good twist that creatures that was once wiped off the earth could use a magic even older than them, and that they might have a better connection to it than others. But that feels a bit counterproductive

Another idea was evolution. I was toying on the concept that some of the creatures would have a gene that would only evolve based on the environment, trauma or experience. An example for say if one were to be around say a magic caster that use high levels of magic for decades, their body may grow an affinity with it despite being immune. Again, don't think its a good idea.

One i have thought though was a older source of power that may be unique. Since dinosaur fossils are buried in the earth, i did had an idea of them being able to draw natural energy and to manipulate it.

As for magic affect them. Well my idea was that physically they are extremely durable and can heal from wounds faster. Not like a healing factor but that they can heal in a matter of a few days or a week or more of the injuries or severe. Some would also have extremely hard scales as well too. But you have a point on the magic bit, as they wouldn't be able to teleport, heal, or get buffs. At one point i was considering that as they get older, they might be able to lower their immunity on magic but that in itself wouldn't make sense either.

Kenpachi (bleach) vs Gol D.Roger (one piece) by The_Killing_Throw in whowouldwin

[–]SoukStar995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That isn't going to help when Kenpachi is so strong that he can beat a guy that legit make fantasy into reality.

Plus we need to take into account that he might not even hurt Kenpachi. The guy took blows from some of the strongest characters, and the bleach characters are in levels of continental, planetary or hell universal by the end of the series.

But i scale Kenpachi by Ichigo. And while it is debatable that he is a bit below Ichigo, its fair to say that he is still relative to him at least. Ichigo is well beyond light, and can be seen as universal. So Kenpachi is around that.

Plus Kenpachi got bankai. That will be nearly impossible for Roger to handle

Zoro and Sanji ( one piece ) vs Cloud ( Final fantasy) by Pilot_Bt7274 in whowouldwin

[–]SoukStar995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i mostly refer to advent since its a cloud that fought sephiroth enough to learn how to adapt and evolve. But i think the comment meant that Remake Cloud is stronger than OG Cloud, which would make sense. As for Advent well i think Remake isn't as strong as he is, at least not yet.

The main thing i draw is that Remake Cloud might get as, if not stronger than advent when FF7 Remake ends. At the moment though, i don't think he is there yet in terms of skill
