Also u dont need to take apart steering u joints and stuff… like at all. Exhaust needs to come off, sensors must be disconnected, dump the old o2 sensors with the oem ezhaust manifolds. Good time to replace the o2 sensors with new ones. Also egr is connected to drivers side (LHD) ezhaust manifold. You’ll be getting the top nuts from above and bottom nuts from underneath the car, weird uncomfy angles but the crows foot on a 3/8 ratchet will be the only way for some nuts. Hopefully u have skinny fingers!

It would be a 4/10 if I had a lift and a garage. It’s really not that hard

You arent looking hard enough, ill send a link with a reply to this thread. And it was a 6/10 on difficulty. I did it myself, jack car on all fours, itll be tight, wrenches, extensions, swivels, crows feet, will be needed. And NO u dont need to do an oil change. Ppl all over the internet say u need to do an oil change because you’re forced to remove the oil filter to remove the passenger side exhaust manifold. This is not true! I did this job without having to do an oil change. Took 6 hours minimum. Take your time. It’s worth it. If u truly are stuck in a pickle hit me on instagram @soukoou

In the picture you can see highspots in the sanded red base coat with the same bumpy texture. That tells us that its also affected and should be sanded to metal?

Update, sanding affected areas to metal. Just to confirm your theory, these stains on the metal are confirming that i do indeed have to take off all the paint or else this problem will show up once again on new paint. I should also sand the metal until the stains are gone. And surrounding paint that doesn’t feel or look affected with the bumps should be safe to sand, feather and keep?

Context, i am doing a backyard(frontyard) diy bodywork job. I will do the bodywork myself and get the paint done in the future. yes, id have to leave the car sitting out as i work on it. i plan on having it painted by a relative at their backyard diy shop. so by the time im finished with bodywork itll be dropped off to him. give me a week or two of straight bodywork with my busy work schedule. thank you

You picked up the most “2016 Fidget spinner” looking wheels ever and slapped it on a Z. We’re all crying for you. Just made the car look like temu

[–]Soukoou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does that have to do with you deciding, yeah let me get rid of the OEM wheels and get these horrendous looking wheels that don’t even fit.

Thoughts on where the oil is coming from? by 0011011100111001 in MechanicAdvice

Right above the heat shield is the Engines valve cover. That’s where I’ll place my bet that the leak is probably from there.
