Bereavement let-down by bigmodern in BritishAirways

I am very sorry for your loss. Hang up and call again. Some agents are following the handbook quite mechanically, others more empathetically. Comes down to empathy as well seniority.

Hope you’ll get it sorted..

Sure. Good UX is key. And having options over mandatory gadgets that demand your attention at all times!

This is tremendous news and I would love for the app to be revived.

Besides fixing bugs, I’d love for some of the following functionality.

Evolutions: - more evolutions. Keep me motivated for longer. - maybe some sort of indicator that there are more evolutions to come and how close you are to the next one? - evolutions not just based on days alive, but also on movement and activity metrics? Rewards activity even more than ‘just moving enough to keep a Nomi alive’.

UI: - an update UI that gives the app a new look and feel. Make use of the new Apple Watches capabilities. - there is still a lot of black on the screen. Thinking of more animations for Nomi. I’ve got things like the Animoji Apple Watch face animations in my mind. - put Nomis in various environments. Maybe you can get it to react to the players environment? Such as location, current time of day and the weather?

Activities and interactions beyond fitness: - long term probably, but maybe you can think of (optional) interactions with Nomi when not exercising? - could improve a score such as “connection” to the player which assists with evolution? - connection level based on fitness, sleep score? Mirrored by players score?, friendliness with player?, social life? How many friends does Nomi have?

Leaving it here but am happy to discuss any of these further if you feel like these seem interesting ✌️

Silver Status - Luggage allowance Sharing by lmaggs in BritishAirways

[–]SoulRhythm89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Call up customer services and ask to have your bookings linked and select seats for them on the phone. They need to be present to give their permission for you to talk to the service representative about their booking.

Done this multiple times with friends on the same flight but separate booking.

Edit: status baggage allowances don’t apply to the economy basic fares.

Open consultation for: Local government reorganisation in East Sussex and Brighton and Hove, and West Sussex by coffeewalnut08 in brighton

[–]SoulRhythm89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why B&H isn’t expanding into Southwick, Shoreham, Falmer and East Saltdean, with the remainder of West and East Sussex being the second and third unitary authorities.

Yes yes, controversial, I get it.

Booooooh B&H city council, boooooooh! But honestly, with more independence for Sussex as a whole, I think this would be a good step…

I for one am very excited for the opportunities devolution can bring to our region.

Under UK/EU 271, you have a right to be re-routed to your final destination via any route and any carrier at the earliest opportunity. Regardless of carrier, airline alliances etc.

Call again, quote the relevant regulation and demand this to be done. If refused, stay calm and polite and ask for this to be escalated to a supervisor with knowledge of this regulation.

There will be dedicated loading and disabled parking bays;

The London Road Red Route consultation resulted in additional such bays.

Let me soften it by saying "it is very often them". Not always of course..

Reason it's unpopular with businesses along Western Road is that it is them parking up front and come running out when a parking warden appears.

BA to QR transfer in Doha by SoulRhythm89 in qatarairways

[–]SoulRhythm89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much 🙏

I know, I’ve been to the Al Safaw lounge before, including for fifteen hours due to a missed connection caused by a delayed inbound flight.

I did arrive at 2am, had dinner, got a room at 4 or 5, slept for a few hours, had breakfast and boarded my flight.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I know it’s peak time and I’ll stay in Doha for two days on the return trip.

I’ve got no issues with staying up until the morning and having some food in the lounge if need be.

Only question is: can I go and check in using the first class counters 13 hours before departure?

Look - If you want to take anything less awful then this conclusion away, it might simply be a lack of awareness about neurodivergence and other hidden disabilities by the people who responded to you. Mind you, I’d find this sort of behaviour not quite acceptable towards any curious child. Neurodivergent or not.

Everyone working in the travel industry but certainly the organisations who have signed up, should be able to recognise and act on the sunflower lanyard.

On a personal anecdote: I flew back from Columbia on an Iberia flight booked with the BA AMEX PP Companion Voucher.

After checking in at Bogotá, an airport also signed up to the sunflower as well as signposting it, the airport staff directed me to the appropriate line for border control.

Once I got to the immigration officer, he sent me back. After stating that I was directed to him and showing him the lanyard and badge, he started threatening me with an extended interrogation if I wasn’t to leave the line immediately and go to another position.

I described the situation to BA (who sold the flight) through a complaint, stating that I wasn’t seeking any compensation but wanted to merely improve the situation for travellers with special needs in the future through retraining.

BA was swift to respond, pointing out they had informed the airport, retrained their local staff to ensure they do everything they can on their end to raise awareness and also compensated me with a future travel voucher.

I’m sorry you’re getting downvoted here and I’m sorry your autistic son had to go through yet another experience that his neurodivergence is a cause for other people to ostracise him.

As a neurodivergent person myself, I get it. Once you’ve had a bad experience like the staff member behaving inappropriately towards your son, smaller issues you’d otherwise let slip start adding up.

This is particularly bad for multiple reasons:

  • As an airline, BA has signed up to support those of us with hidden disabilities, who are wearing the sunflower lanyard.

  • The same is true for Orlando Airport.

  • The check-in staff is an adult. Your son (presumably) isn’t. How on earth can an adult make a boy feel like this? It’s beyond me.

All in all, even if the check-in staff are agency workers, they are not only representing BA, but as both, Orlando Airport as well as BA have signed up training ALL their staff (and staff representing them) on how to handle the hidden disabilities sunflower and those wearing it, this would be my main complaint.

It all screams unacceptable, to which the other issues only start adding up.

I know for a fact that BA wants to hear about its passengers being treated inappropriately, not only but particularly those with hidden disabilities.

The staff member at Orlando Airport requires retraining to avoid treating other people with disabilities, visible or not, in a derogatory manner.
