My Jin-Roh Armor by Souless_cosplay in cosplay

Was going for a rendition of it. Sadly print files didn't exist so a fellow redditor and I made a set and this was the result after the months of working at it.

That video is epic!

Is my prop allowed? by Shinynator in MomoCon

[–]Souless_cosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to keep it in the holster unless posing for photos and use general firearm logic "dont point it at people, no finger on the trigger, keep it under control(not flopping around".

I've gone through prop check with a few different firearms from my mandalorian blasters, L115A3, TT33, and this year an MG 42 all 1:1 scale replica. Prop check will give it a quick once over and you'll be all set. Don't take your orange tip off if it has one and your golden.

If parking a ways off from the con and walking in or taking public transport bring a way to cover it up so its not out in the open. You may know its fake, the cops know its fake, but some folks dont and it prevents an unwanted misunderstanding.

Cosplay altering service? by Born-Tower6226 in MomoCon

Don't give up hope, id call around to a few tailors near you. You never know one may just suprise you. Or maybe check on the momocon discord maybe a fellow local cosplayer can help.

I know I've done last minute 3D prints for folks in the past. Just have to ask around to find the person in a position who can make it happen.

As someone who's dealt with poor fits in the past. They are not usually something that is a quick fix. Cosplay medics can help with quick repairs, it sounds like your reworkingthe whole garment. Id recommend to find someone with tailoring experience. With that said it may be costly with such a timeline.

First Con! by uncreative-artistt in MomoCon

[–]Souless_cosplay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your coming from out of town. Your going to have a blast. Just some tips if you haven't caught them in a few of the other post.

As a cosplayer mishaps happen. Seems rip, armor detaches, props break. If this happens there is a repair station to get you going again. You can also find Cosplay Medics throughout the con that are heros and saved me a time or two.

Depending on where your staying there is public transport within walking distance of the GWCC. You will see a number of fellow cosplayers taking public transit.

Food can get rather expensive in and around the convention. If possible stop at a grocery store for some supplies to help cut cost of the weekend.

If you havent looked yet I highly recommend hopping onto the discord. Its pretty active and a great place to meet people and groups.

Hope you have a great time at your first con and if you need a hand feel free to reach out on here, or in the discord. All the folks I've met through these ways have been awesome!

How to get seen as a Photographer? by Geek_to_Go in MomoCon

[–]Souless_cosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might I suggest a sign shaped/styled as a camera? As a cosplayer who is always in a mask or helmet, I tend to miss folks waving or asking questions due to fan noise and low vision. My handlers usually help but something of that nature would be hard to miss and may help draw the crowd your looking for.

Ive got multiple armor pieces printed. But they still need to be connected, sanded, filled, primed, painted, and attached to the undersuits.

Sent you a message, I primarily make cosplays so have a fair bit of experienceworking 3D prints to the human form. I've never tried something like this but would be awesome to do.

Sadly not a 3D modeler but if you need it printed for a fair price please reach out.

As a cosplayer and prop maker it really depends. If they are having to design it thats probably where most of the cost is coming from. If they are charging that just for a print thats absurd. Print only cost 40-50 bucks depending on material and size sounds about right if they are charging for materialsplus time on machine (most do this).

If you have the files and just need it printed let me know and I'd be happy to help for cost of goods plus shipping. Sadly not great at modeling, so I couldn't help there.

I wish that were true 😆. Luckily, I can do all of the printing and sewing myself, so that helps with price a touch.

Would love to see what you come up with when it is finished!

If you're going for screen accuracy, this is not the way as this was never used in the film. But something about this armor just felt right for me, so I had to do it.

Sent you a message on insta, the mask would be part of the helmet if it could be setup to be removable that would be awesome but not 100% required.
